With the rapid development of computer technology and geographic information technology,Geographic Information Systems(GIS)technology with three-dimensional spatial data processing capability is receiving more and more attention in various fields.Three-dimensional visualization of GIS technology is widely used in the construction of digital earth,digital cities and digital campuses.The establishment of Digital Elevation Model(DEM)is the basis for the analysis of 3D GIS.Triangulated Irregular Network(TIN),as an expression of DEM,plays an important role in the construction of DEM.Therefore,how to quickly build a suitable TIN model under actual requirements is crucial for further building a Web GIS three-dimensional digital campus system.This article analy the current research status and development trends of Web GIS technology and DEM models at home and abroad,and based on the Arc GIS platform,the research area of Hangzhou University of Technology Zhejiang is used as the research object to design the problems existing in the construction of TIN models in actual scenarios.An improved point-by-point insertion algorithm is adopted.The TIN model of the campus and surrounding areas is constructed using Arc GIS Python and the help of Arc Map custom script tools.The J2 EE framework and Arc GIS API for Java Script technology are used to design and develop a 3D Web GIS visualization system based on the DEM model.The main work of this article is as follows:(1)Based on the analysis of the domestic and foreign development status of Web GIS,3D GIS,and DEM,the front-end and back-end development technologies,database storage technologies,and Arc GIS-related technologies required for system development are introduced.(2)Based on the system requirements analysis,the system architecture and logical function structure are designed,and the system functions and database are designed in detail.Aiming at the problem of TIN model construction,an improved point-by-point insertion algorithm is designed in detail,and the TIN model is constructed in the actual scene.The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm in the actual scene.(3)Based on the Arc GIS platform,combined with the improved point-by-point insertion algorithm,Arc GIS Python is used to build the TIN model of Zhejiang University of Technology in the Arc Map custom script tool;The campus 3D scene modeling is further implemented;The SSM framework,Arc GIS API for Java Script and other technologies are used to designed and implemented the visual analysis,statistical query,service area analysis,shortest path analysis and other functional modules in the 3D Web GIS system.The final test results show that the system is effective and feasible.
