At present,as physicists continue to understand particle physics in depth,the application requirements and demands for particle detectors are broader.At present,semiconductor detectors,liquid detectors,scintillator detectors,gas detectors,etc.are more mature in particle physics detectors.As one of the earliest detectors used by particle physics detectors,gas detectors played a very important role in the early research of particle physics.The gas detector has a lower cost,and has the advantages of high gain,high counting rate,high position resolution,being not easy to catch fire,easy to reconstruct the particle tracks,and anti-radiation.In order to be able to adapt to more application requirements,it is particularly important to continuously optimize the performance parameters of the detector and the manufacturing process.In future high-energy physics experiments,space astronomy measurement,Higgs particle precision measurement,etc.often need to build space detectors,digital hadron calorimeters,etc.Judging from the currently proposed schemes,gas detector research schemes mainly include Gascous Electron Multiplier(GEM)and Thick Gascous Electron Multiplier(THGEM).Based on this,it is particularly important to research the domestic THGEM detectors that can be adapted to different research applications.For THGEM,large area,high gain and high resolution are the current development trends of THGEM.In response to the demand for high gain and high resolution,on the basis of small area THGEM,this paper developed Multi-layer Thick Gascous Electron Multiplier(M-THGEM)and Well Multi-layer Thick Gascous Electron Multiplier(W-M-THGEM).Their lower working voltage,high gain,high resolution makes THGEM application scenarios more extensive.This paper mainly studies the basic performance of THGEM detectors of different sizes.By building a detector test platform,small area THGEM of 5cm×5cm,6cm×6cm,6cm×10cm is developed,and then a large area of 20cm×20cm is studied The working performance of the double-layer THGEM,10cm×10cm double-layer well type THGEM detector,through comparison of experimental results,could reach the gain of small area THGEM to 10~4,the better energy resolution and stability.Based on the above tested results,a 6cm×6cm single-layer THGEM was selected to test its gain and energy resolution under low gas pressures and.A gain of 10~4and an energy resolution of about 28%have been obtained.In addition,in this paper,also a designed digital readout detector based on domestic self-made THGEM board is mainly used.The anode plate electrodes is are readout with 64X-64Y strips.The pre-analog amplification,threshold crossing,shaping,and serial readout of the integrated circuit chip GASTONE through multi-channel electronic signals can realize online position.reconstruction.The results show that the position resolution of the detector is about 400?m,which reaches the theoretical expected value.The X-ray imaging and?-ray energy deposition response in the sensitive space of the chamber were completed by using multiple threshold voltage decreasing methods.
