Clavulina J.Schr?t.is a genus with coralloid basidiocarp and two sterigmata, which widely distributed worldwide.Up to now, approximately 90 species have been recorded, and tropical and subtropical areas are the hot spots for research of the genus, with China previously recording five species. At present, morphological and phylogenetic studies of this genus are not sufficient. This study conducted morphological and phylogenetic studies on this genus based on specimens collected in different regions of China.A comprehensive and systematic study was carried out on the species from different regions of China, the obtained specimens were analyzed based on morphology and molecular biology,19 species of the genus were identified,of which 7 were published and to be published: Clavulina curva?C.flava?C.flavosalmonicolor?C.purpurascens?C.subcinerea?C.tomentosa and C.yunnanensis, three new variants: C.rugosa var.clavata?C.rugosa var.microspore and C.rugosa var.rugolosa, five new record species in China: C.amethystina?C.reae?C.rugosa var.tropica?C.subrugosa and C.thindii, the recorded species are redescribed in detail, the macro-and micro-morphology and habitat characteristics of each new taxon were described in detail,an indentification key to the Chinese species of Clavulina so far is provided.Based on ITS?nrLSU?RPB2?EF1 and ATP6 sequences to reval the phylogenetic position, phylogenetic relationship by Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood methods, which used to analyze single gene and multiple genes, the results showed that for the genus Clavulina,ITS?nrLSU and RPB2 were more effective in single gene analysis, the combined analysis of ITS+nrLSU+RPB2 is more suitable for the study of interspecies relationship, the ITS sequence not only can be used for phylogenetic analysis of the genus but also related genera.A few modifications were made to the two subgenera of the genus Clavulina.Phylogenetic analysis was performed by both other generas under Clavulinaceae and other morphologically similar genus.
