| Objective: Through a retrospective analysis of the brain dispersion spectral images and behavioral data of healthy people, this paper discusses whether there is a fiber connection between human hypothalamus and the anterior insula region, confirms its route, and analyzes its possible functions. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 69 healthy individuals from Human Connectome Project(HCP)WU-Minn HCP 1200 Subjects Data Release(HCP1200).The diffusion spectrum imaging data in the HCP1200 was imported into the DSI studio software, and the white matter fiber tracts between the hypothalamus and insula were tracked and reconstructed using the generalized q-sampling imaging technology. We found that the fiber tracts could only be reconstructed in a part of the population. On this basis, the research objects are divided into the experimental group and control group, experimental group for the successful reconstruction of the fiber bundle, control group for failed reconstruction. The corresponding NIH Toolbox behavioral data of the subjects were extracted, and gender, age, anger score, hostility level score, aggression score, and GFA value of the fiber bundle were calculated respectively.GraphPad Prism 7 software was used to analyze data: measurement data using independent sample t-test,gender data belongs to count data, consistent with the binomial distribution, the difference between the two groups analysis using normal approximation calculation, linear regression analysis was carried out on the GFA values and behavior data(P<0.05 is considered statistically significant). Results: 1.In 25 of the 69 samples, there are fiber tracts projecting from the left lateral hypothalamus area to the left dorsal anterior insular region, and males were dominant in the experimental group compared to the control group.2.This fiber bundle was successfully reconstructed only at the left side, orientating from the lateral hypothalamus region, along the anterior superior direction, passing successively through the lateral side of the anterior abdomen of the thalamus--the anterior medial side of the pallidum--the anterior medial side of the putamen--the inferior side of the anterior corona radiata--and ending at the dorsal side of the anterior insula region.3.The hostility level of theexperimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in the scores of anger and aggression.4.There was no clear correlation between the hostility score and the integrity of the fiber bundle(P>0.05).Conclusion: We successfully reconstructed a fiber bundle projecting from the left lateral hypothalamus area to the left dorsal anterior insular region, along the anterior superior direction, passing successively through the lateral side of the anterior abdomen of the thalamus--the anterior medial side of the pallidum--the anterior medial side of the putamen--the inferior side of the anterior corona radiata, and the successful reconstruction were found more in young adult men.The results indicate that groups with this fiber bundle exhibited higher hostility scores, but there was no certain correlation between hostility scores and the integrity of the fiber bundle. |
