ObjectiveOur purpose is to use diffusion tensor imaging technology to measure the effect of aerobic exercise on the anisotropy score of adolescents' brain white matter fiber bundles, and to explore the mechanism of aerobic exercise to improve the integrity of the adolescents' brain white matter microstructure and promote mental and physical health.MethodsWe collect the basic information and clinical data of all subjects, and evaluate the neuropsychological scale, including MCCB to evaluate cognitive function,GAF scale to evaluate social function,HAMD scale to evaluate depressive symptoms, family history questionnaire to exclude family history.Achieva-x series 3.0 T MRI produced by Philips in the Netherlands was used to scan 19 exercise group(exercise,EX)and 13 control group(Healthy control,HC)participants to obtain DTI data on the Matlab(R2017)platform in the Linux environment Above, use FSL and Atlas L software to analyze the DTI raw data to extract fiber bundles, calculate the FA value of fiber bundles through FSL's maths and means commands, use SPSS22.0 statistical software to analyze the clinical data of the two groups of subjects using covariance analysis The method to compare the FA value difference between EX and HC.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the clinical data and the FA value of white matter fiber bundles.resultsCompared with the control group, the exercise group has higher FA values in:Middle cerebellar peduncle,Pontine crossing tract(a part of MCP),Genu of corpus callosum,Body of corpus callosum,Corticospinal tract L,Medial lemniscu s R,Medial lemniscus L,Inferior cerebellar peduncle L,Superior cerebellar ped uncle R,Anterior limb of internal capsule L,Posterior limb of internal capsule R,Posterior limb of internal capsule L,Retrolenticular part of internal capsule L,A nterior corona radiata L,Superior corona radiata R,Exte rnal capsule L,cingula ted gyrus R,Cingulum(cingulate gyrus)L,Cingulum(hippocampus)L,Superior longitudinal fasciculus L,Superior fronto-occipital fasciculus(could be a part of anterior internal capsule)R.The FA value of the left medial thalamus was positively correlated with the Hamilton Depression Scale HAMD score(P=0.042),positively correlated with the Yang-style Mania Scale YMRS score(P=0.002),and positively correlated with the Concise Psychiatric Rating Scale BPRS score(P =0.020).The FA value of the left cerebellum was negatively correlated with the Hamilton Depression Scale HAMD score(P=0.026),was negatively correlated with the Hamilton Anxiety Scale HAMA score(P=0.020),and was negatively correlated with the Concise Psychiatric Rating Scale BPRS score(P=0.027).The FA value of the left cortico spinal tract was positively correlated with the Young Mania Scale YMRS score(P=0.044);the FA value of the left parahippocampal cingulate tract was negative ly correlated with the Hamilton Depression Scale HAMD score(P=0.030).Negati vely correlated with the Hamilton Anxiety Scale HAMA score(P=0.020).Conclusion1.Aerobic exercise can cause significant changes in the DTI parameter FA of the whole white matter fiber bundle in adolescents, which may be due to the improvement of the integrity of the white matter microstructure in the adolesce nt brain by aerobic exercise.2.There is a certain correlation between adolescents' clinical scale scores and the FA value of white matter fiber tracts, suggesting that aerobic exercise may improve the integrity of white matter fiber tracts to improve mood and promote mental health.
