Repeat sequence is the main component of plant genome and plays an important role on genome structure and evolution. We got the genomes of all 459 plants in the NCBI database that are publicly available for download.Based on the latest DFAM and Repbase databases,we re-annotated the whole genomes with tandem repeats and transposable elements(TE),and released a new database of plant repeats: PlantRep.The comparison of the repeat sequences of the genome of plant system evolution reveals the similarities and differences of the contribution of repeat sequences to the genome in different plant groups.Through an in-depth comparison of the repeat sequence subfamily,it is found that there are increasing distributions from lower plants to higher plants and specific distributions only in some species in the evolution of plants.Comparing the nucleotide sequence of repeat copies of different plant groups,it is found that there are differences in the nucleotide divergence rate between different plant groups.Combined with gene annotation, the distribution frequency of repeat sequences in different regions of the gene was studied.PlantRep reveals the distribution characteristics of repetitive sequences in different plant groups and provides a data basis for comparative genomic studies of plant repetitive sequences.
