Borehole-surface potential imaging technology has the characteristics of surface receiving and well excitation, which is an important electromagnetic survey technology. It also has the advantages of not destroying the formation, low measuring cost and simple structure. It is a reservoir geophysical technology that can confirm the distribution of fluid in the inter well reservoir. This paper describes the detection principle and correlation theory of this technology.Combined with Borehole-surface potential imaging technology, through the study of sand body characteristics, percolation body structure characteristics, reservoir characteristics and reservoir characteristics to find the area with relatively high permeability and production.By measuring the potential data of in the target area, the potential distribution along the strike of the stratum in the study area are given.Based on the differences in the electrical properties of the oil and water distribution of the target layer, the well boundary measurement technology is used to monitor the oil boundary within 1500 meters of the oil layer.so as to identify the oil-water distribution characteristics, avoid the risk of low yield, select the high-resistance and high-oilbearing areas, and guide the production capacity construction.Through this study, test the suitability of the technology in the target area, and the target areas are divided into type I favorable area and type II favorable area, which provide effective basic information for the development and production of the area in the future.By combining with geological characteristics,a new way of thinking is provided for the application prospect of this technique.By combining with geological characteristics,a new idea for the application prospect of this technique is provided.
