The stability of immobile elements makes weathering products such as weathered rocks,soils and stream sediments retain the element combination characteristics of parent rocks,and the change trend of the content between them may be transferred from the parent rocks to their weathering products.Based on the stable combination characteristics of immobile elements,Yan Taotao et al.?2018?codes a sequence of geochemical lithogene:Al2O3?SiO2?P?Ti?La?Fe2O3?Th?Zr?Nb?Y?U,and the similarity between different geochemical lithogenes was compared by gene similarity of gene.In this paper,three scale samples of the granite weathering profile from rock to soil in the Wanganzhen area,the soil-stream sediment profile matching with the granite weathering profile,and the 1:200000 regional geochemical survey in the Wanganzhen area,Laiyuan County,Hebei Province,are selected to examine the applicability of different degrees of weathering products of the coded geochemical lithogenes.The results show that the geochemical lithogenes can be well applied to granite and its weathering products.During the weathering process,the geochemical lithogene has good inheritance from soil samples to parent rock?granite?,and good heredity from granite to its weathered products.For the weathered products of the same parent rock?such as soil and stream sediments?,the similarity of gene among them is also very high.Therefore,geochemical lithogenes can not only trace the sources of soil and stream sediments by its inheritance,but also trace the source of soil and stream sediment samples,that is,trace the possible source of the samples.Based on the massive geochemical data of regional geochemical survey,a kind of geochemical sample database suitable for the geochemical data can be constructed,and then the corresponding geochemical lithogenes database can be constructed,which has potential application prospects in the fields of basic geology survey,mineral resources exploration,ecological environment assessment and traceability of physical evidence.
