Personality refers to consistent behavioral difference of animals, which are maintained over time and different environment contexts.Personality commonly exists in animal groups with stability and heredity, and is closely related to animal behavior ecology, evolution and natural selection.Spatial learning and memory is an important basis for individual or population activities of animals.Because of the changing environment, animals need to keep spatial learning and memory.Efficient spatial learning and memory can help animals reduce the cost of finding food, spouse, habitat and other resources.Strong spatial learning and memory ability enables animals to adjust their behavior to adapt the changing environment. Therefore, the spatial learning and memory ability of animals is particularly important for their survival and reproduction. However, researches about personality, species and spatial learning and memory are inadeqate. The in-depth study on this issue will help to explain the behavioral and ecological problems related to animal personality, which has great significance to enrich the relevant theories of animal adaptive evolution. In this study, the Brandt's vole(Lasiopodomys brandtii)was taken as subject and Kunming mouse(Mus musculus)as control.By open filed-mirror stimulation and complex maze experiment,SMART 3.0 software was used to test the animal personality and spatial learning and memory abilities, and finally discuss the relationship between personality, species and spatial learning and memory. The main results in this research are as follows: 1 Personality assessing and species comparison of personalityThe behavior observation method needs to record data by hand, with large errors and complex analysis, while the software analysis method is fast in data collection and analysis, and is high efficiency, more scientific and accurate. Therefore, software analysis method is more advantageous to assess personality.Based on the personality score of Brandt's vole and Kunming mice, the results show that: 1)There was a significant positive correlation between the personality scores between software analysis(SMART 3.0 software)and behavior observation(1-0 method)(y=2.6559x-8.6644,R=0.817,P<0.001);2)Personality scores of Brandt's voles were significantly higher than that of mice;3)The dispersion of personality score of Brandt's Vole were greater than that of mice;4)The personality score of female mice was significantly higher than that of male, but there was no significant difference between male and female of Brandt's voles.2 Difference of spatial learning and memory between Brandt's vole and Kunming mouseSMART 3.0 software was used to analyze spatial learning and memory of Brandt's voles and mice based on the complex maze test, and then the relationship among species, sex and spatial learning and memory was discussed. The results are as follows: 1)Spatial learning and memory abilities of Brandt's vole were stronger than mice. The learning speed, short term memory rate, medium term memory rate and long term memory rate in Brandt's vole are higher than that of mice, and their short term forgetting rate and long term forgetting rate are lower than mice;2)Males of Brandt's voles and Kunming mice are significantly better than females in the spatial learning experiment, but no significant sex differences were observed;3)There were significant species differences in the time, number of errors and path length between Brandt's voles and mice in the learning or memory experiment.3 Effects of personality on spatial learning and memory of Brandt's voleThe relationship between personality and spatial learning and memory was discussed to evaluate the personality and spatial learning and memory ability of Brandt's voles. The results are as follows: 1)Personality can significantly affect the spatial learning of animals, and the learning ability of the boldness and intermedius individuals are significantly higher than that of the shyness individuals;2)Personality has a significant effect on the short-term and medium-term memory, and the short-term and medium-term memory ability of the boldness is stronger than that of the intermedius and shyness individuals;3)Personality have a certain impact on the longterm memory of the Brandt's voles, and the long-term memory ability of Brandt's voles with the boldness is relatively good;4)The short-term and long-term forgetting rates of shy Brandt's voles are higher than that of the bold and medium. In summary, there are significant species differences in personality, spatial learning and memory between Brandt's voles and Kunming mice and personality affect spatial learning and memory ability of Brandt's vole. This study provides a theoretical supplement on animal personality and spatial learning and memory, and can enrich the knowledge of adaptive evolution in animals.
