In recent years,with the continuous development of electromagnetic pulse weapons and the increasing complexity of electromagnetic environment,the security of electronic information devices is facing more and more serious threats.Satellite communication system is one of the most important electronic equipment in electronic warfare,its normal operation is an important guarantee to master the initiative of information war.Therefore,it is urgent and significant to study the high power protection technology of satellite communication devices.In order to achieve the compatibility of strong electromagnetic pulse protection and the normal transmission of the working signals,and to remove out-of-band interference effect at the same time effectively,this paper analyzes the traditional principles and characteristics of high power protection means,and Innovatively adopts the new electromagnetic material,which is the current research hot spot,combined with FSS and ESS to design the high power microwave protective structure of satellite communication systems.Firstly,this paper studies and verifies the spatial filtering characteristics of FSS and the energy selection characteristics of ESS based on the working mechanism,and then simulates and analyzes the effects of various influencing factors on the transmission characteristics of FSS and the insertion loss and shielding efficiency of ESS under two stable states by establishing models in CST.Secondly,for the high power protection and filtering application of satellite communication devices,a gap cruciform double-layer symmetrical FSS structure is designed to suppress out-of-band interference,and a double-layer crossed ESS structure is designed to limit space amplitude limiting.Finally,this paper proposes a new cascade structure of ESS and FSS based on the analysis of the multi-layer periodic surface structure,simulates the amplitude limiting effect under high power microwave and the transmission characteristics with the incidence of normal pulse signals.The research results in this paper show that in x-band,the designed three-layer FSS structure which uses modular periodic unit has good bandpass characteristics in range 8.4-9.2GHz,rapid attenuation outside the band and stable performance for incident waves at different angles.Under ideal condition,the shielding efficiency of the designed double-layer crossed ESS structure performs well,which is over 26 d B within 8-12 GHz,and the insertion loss within x-band is less than 3d B when working in the wave penetrating mode.The designed ESS and FSS cascade structure appears bandstop characteristics for the strong electromagnetic pulse and out-of-band interference signal,meanwhile shows bandpass characteristics for the normal signals within the satellite communication frequency.Therefore,the new designed cascade structure has achieved the compatibility of strong electromagnetic pulse protection and the normal transmission of the working signals,and the purpose of effectively removing out-of-band interference effect at the same time,which is easy to be applied in designing the high power protection and filtering of the satellite communication devices.
