Metamaterials have made great progress in recent years.The introduction of coding metamaterials,digital metamaterials,and programmable metamaterials has provided new solutions and inspired design ideas for many engineering applications.The development of digital coding metamaterials and their application in antennas are introduced through theoretical design,simulation and experiment.The main contents and contributions are as follows:1.A circularly polarized patch antenna with a parasitic passband outside the working frequency is designed.The open resonant ring(SRR)is introduced to achieve passband suppression,which overcomes the limitations of the traditional technology,and does not require extra area.And the bandwidth can be well controlled.2.A 1-bit dual-band dual-polarization coding metasurface is designed.This codding metasurface can simultaneously operate at two frequency bands and can independently control the x-polarized and y-polarized incident waves.3.A leaky wave antenna based on 1-bit digital metamaterials unit is proposed.The switching state of each unit is controlled independently and changing the distribution of the switching states of the coding units can change the far field pattern.This antenna achieves beam steering at a fixed frequency.4.Finally,digital metasurface enables control of the polarization of electromagnetic waves.First,a 2-bit polarization conversion surface was designed to achieve real-time modulation of the polarization of the reflected wave.The linearly polarized incident wave can be converted into a left-handed circularly polarized wave,a right-handed circularly polarized wave.Next,a transmissive polarization selection surface is introduced.By controlling the switching state of the diode,the polarization direction of the electromagnetic wave transmitted through the surface of the array is selected.In addition to the polarization separation function,the polarization selection surface can also be used as a frequency selection surface and has a passband switching function.
