In this paper, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy is used to identify and detect the pore characteristics and oil-water distribution of low-permeability cores. The effects of compaction on the porosity were studied from four aspects: the permeability characteristics of the low permeability core, the oil-water distribution, the porosity and the permeability of the water-flooding core. The results show that the response of the core to the terahertz band and the distribution of oil and water are present due to the different porosity characteristics in the time domain, frequency domain and absorption coefficient of the extracted terahertz band. And the qualitative analysis of the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy on the characteristics of oil-water distribution of low-permeability rock. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.The low permeability of the core pore characteristics of terahertz spectroscopy. In this paper, the change of the terahertz spectral curve due to the complexity and difference of the core pore structure is explained, and the pore characteristics of the low permeability core can be characterized according to the terahertz spectral data.2.Terahertz spectral analysis of low-permeability core samples for oiling. The results show that there are many oil contents at both ends of the core due to the different pore characteristics of the core, and the water content in the middle part of the low permeability core is different.3.The effects of compaction on the porosity of the rock were studied by terahertz spectroscopy. The influence of different porosity on the terahertz spectrum was analyzed according to the parameters in the spectrum. The terahertz technique was used to characterize the reservoir and the application of further research to lay the foundation.
