In this paper, the eastern part of Liaoning Province is used as the research area. With the support of ENVI 5.3 and Arc GIS 10.4 software platform, the human-computer interactive visual interpretation of the research area in 1985,1995,2005 and 2015 is carried out.The current situation of land use, land use space change, land use change, land use change speed and development trend in the study area were analyzed, and the temporal and spatial variation of land use types in the area over the past 30 years was revealed. On this basis, the principal component analysis method is used to screen and classify many factors that drive land use change, and the natural factors and human factors that drive the land use/cover change in this area are discussed. The research results are as follows:(1)Through the analysis of the current situation of the study area, the distribution and quantity of the six land types of cultivated land, forest land, grassland, water area, industrial and mining residential land and unused land in 1985,1995,2005 and 2015 are obtained.Among them, cultivated land and forest land accounted for the largest proportion, and the sum of the two accounts for more than 93% of the area of the study area.During the 30 years, the six types of land have undergone varying degrees of quantitative changes.(2)The transfer of land use types over the past 30 years is mainly between cultivated land, forest land, grassland, and industrial and mining residential land.Between 1985 and 1995,forest land decreased, cultivated land, grassland and residential land increased.Forest land flowed to cultivated land(642.31 km2)and grassland(131.58 km2).The cultivated land flowed to grassland(81.96 km2)and industrial and mining residential land(63.77 km2),indicating the forest area at this stage. The decrease was mainly caused by the expansion of land for agriculture and urban construction.During 1995-2005,two-way transformation between forest land and cultivated land occurred. The grassland flowed to cultivated land and forest land, and the cultivated land area continued to increase(341.96 km2).The forest land area decreased trend(223.47 km2)and the grassland area decreased(128.29 km2).It shows that the relevant policies for protecting cultivated land and forest land at this stage have achieved initial results, and the deforestation and urban expansion have been controlled.Between 2005 and 2015,cultivated land continued to grow(96.00 km2),which was caused by a large encroachment on grassland and water area. The area of forest land changed little(1.78 km2),indicating that the occupation of forest land at this stage was contained. The forestry protection policy was implemented. However, the water area decreased during the period(7.49 km2),indicating that human resources are increasing in water resources and water resources protection is imminent.(3)From the perspective of dynamic changes in land use over the past 30 years, the highest rate of change during the study period was grassland(-1.62%)and unused land(1.64%).The cultivated land showed a slow growth trend, while the forest land showed a slow decline. The land used for industrial and mining residents is generally growing. The first two phases of land use comprehensive dynamics(0.08 %,0.08 %)were larger than the third period(0.05 %),and the future change trend(pre-mid-term large,late-small)also reflected the same change law. This shows that with the development of social economy, the intensity of human activities and urban construction is declining,a nd the government's land planning is gradually scientific and reasonable.(4)During the 30 years, the land use/cover change in the study area was the result of both natural and human factors.Driving force analysis shows that population growth(405,000),rapid economic development(40 times GDP growth)and industrial restructuring are the main anthropogenic drivers of arable land and industrial and mining residential land growth;the average temperature increases(2.68 ?)The climatic factors of drought and flood alternation and increased dryness(0.80)caused by fluctuations in precipitation are the main natural factors driving the increase of cultivated land area and the reduction of forest land and water area in the study area.
