In recent years,the establishment of bird aerodynamics model is an important research topic in academia.As the representative of flapping-wing flying birds,the good homing property of pigeons is convenient to study,but because of the complex flying movements of pigeons,it is difficult to collect the force on the wings of pigeons in the free flight state by sensors.In this paper,the force on the wing of a pigeon is estimated by measuring the deformation data of the root of a single flying plume to estimate the force exerted on the wing of the pigeon during flight.In this paper,the pigeon is used as the experimental object,and the strain gauge is used as the sensor to design a set of experimental methods for collecting the root deformation of the plume axis and analyzing the normal force of the reference point in the flight of the pigeon in vivo.A pigeon recoverable sensing device is developed,which has the functions of GPS real-time positioning,gyroscope acceleration sensor real-time flight attitude calculation,amplified strain gauge voltage data acquisition and real-time recording using TF card.The total weight of the whole module is 19.6g and the size is 27mm×48mm×20mm..In this paper,the morphology data of the flight plume are measured and counted.The bending strength of the specimen is calculated by two points experiment.The strength of different flying plume will be different,so it is necessary to analyze the relationship between the root deformation and the force of the different flying plume.A set of strain gauge voltage-reference point normal force conversion method is summarized through the flying weight mounting experiment.The indoor ideal condition and outdoor environment test are designed for the daily activities of pigeons.A method of attaching strain gauges to the root of living pigeon feather axis is summarized.Two kinds of headsets are designed to avoid pigeon bite strain gauges and their lines effectively.In order to obtain the environmental information during flight,an image acquisition module is designed,and a wearable auxiliary device is designed to provide the fixed position and route of the equipment.The research in this paper provides an idea for the establishment of aerodynamics model of pigeon flapping wing and a mechanical analysis basis for the manufacture of pigeon flapping-wing robot.
