At present,China's economic is developing with a high-speed,the contribution of Knowledge Intensive Business Service(KIBS)to economic development growth rate is growing, and the scale of China's introduction of foreign direct investment(FDI)continues to expand. There is a certain relationship between the spatial agglomeration of KIBS and urban FDI.So,what impact does KIBS's agglomeration development have on the inflow of urban FDI? What effect does the hierarchical city or spatial geographic distance have on the spatial spillover effects of KIBS agglomeration on FDI inflows? In the existing research, the dual dimensions of urban hierarchy and geographic distance are rarely combined to explore the spatial spillover effect of KIBS agglomeration on FDI inflow. Therefore, this paper studies the relationship between KIBS agglomeration and urban FDI inflow based on the dimension of urban hierarchy and geographic distance, which has importanttheoretical and practical significance. This paper's structure is organized as follows: The first part compiled the theoretical foundations and research results of domestic and foreign scholars on the spatial spillover effects of KIBS agglomeration,FDI location selection and and spatial spillover effects of agglomeration. The second part systematically illustrates the mechanism of the effect of KIBS agglomeration on the spatial spillover effects of urban FDI inflows. The third part analyzes the development status of KIBS agglomeration and urban FDI in China based on the hypothetical proposition put forward by theoretical analysis. The fourth part uses the KIBS panel data of 285prefecture-level cities in China from 2001 to 2016,the spatial Dubin model(SDM)is used to analyze the impact of KIBS agglomeration on urban FDI.Based on the perspective of urban hierarchy and spatial geographic distance, the multi-dimensional fixed-effect GMM estimation method is used to analyze the spatial spillover effects of KIBS agglomeration on FDI inflows in different levels of cities and different distances. The main research conclusions are:(1)The development of China's KIBS agglomeration and FDI overall scale is in an accelerated phase, and the overall strength is continuously strengthened.KIBS agglomeration has a positive effect on urban FDI inflow, and there are differences in the spatial spillover effects of KIBS agglomeration on FDI inflows in different levels of cities.Among them, the KIBS agglomeration in large cities is conducive to FDI inflows in various cities, and the spillover effect on FDI inflows in large cities is greater than that in small and medium-sized cities. It shows that the higher the city level, the stronger the spatial spillover effect of KIBS agglomeration on FDI inflow, which is related to the level of economic development of the level city itself.(2)Urban geographic distance has a significant impact on the spatial spillover effect of KIBS agglomeration, and its spatial spillover effect will decay with distance. The KIBS agglomeration in large cities has different spatial spillover ranges for FDI inflows in different cities.Among them, the spillover range of KIBS in large cities to large, medium and small cities is concentrated in the range of 250-550 km,150-250 km and 350-450 km.In the “shadow area”,FDI inflows in cities will be hindered;and beyond the effective spillover range, the spatial spillover effect will be significantly attenuated or insignificant. And exceeding 550 kilometers, its spatial spillover phenomenon presents random fluctuations.
