Research On The Relationship Between FDI, OFDI And Green Total Factor Productivity

In the "Thirteenth Five-Year" development outline,it is clearly proposed to adhere to the concept of green development,accelerate the construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society,and promote the sustainable development of social economy.The key to realizing this concept is to promote green total factor productivity(GTFP).We will change the development model of rapid development,low technical level and poor economic efficiency.Using advanced science and technology improves economic efficiency,the quality of economic development and protects the ecological environment.Foreign direct investment(FDI)and Outward foreign direct investment(OFDI)are important ways for China to obtain technology spillovers and achieve green technology advancement.With the deepening of China's opening up to the outside world,the scale of two-way FDI capital continues to increase.In 2016,China's scale of FDI and OFDI ranked second in the world.Based on this,the paper studies and analyzes the effect of green total factor productivity on two-way FDI.Firstly,the status quo of China's two-way FDI is analyzed,and the GTFP is evaluated by DEA-Malmquist index method.Based on the measurement results,the 2007-2016 Chinese inter-provincial dynamic panel data is used for empirical test.The study finds that China's GTFP shows a general downward trend,and regional differences are obvious;foreign direct investment and outward foreign direct investment have a significant role in promoting the growth of GTFP,but the interaction between the two does not produce synergy,outward foreign direct investment to FDI's GTFP growth effect has an inhibitory effect;the effect of two-way investment on GTFP generated by different economic regions is also different.The GTFP growth promotion effect brought by FDI in the central region is greater than that in the eastern and western regions,but the OFDI in the central region has an inhibitory effect on the growth of GTFP.OFDI in the eastern region has a significant role in promoting the growth of GTFP.
