To explore the mechanism of single-root shear characteristics,selecting Caragana korshinskii,Salix psammophila,Hippophae rhamnoides and Artemisia sphaerocephala as object of this study.The lateral root branch and straight root of four plants within the range from 1.00 to 7.00mm.The single-root shear characteristics measured with Self-made fixture and the instrument of TY 8000.The experimental content includes single-root shear characteristics,factor and Fragile parts of root.These results will improve the shear mechanical of the root and help understand play role of shrub root in enhancing environment in mining area.Results are as follows:(1)The lateral root and straight root of four plants single-root shear force and diameter are positively correlated,single-root shear strength and diameter are negative correlated.The single-root shear characteristics between lateral root and straight root for the four species follow the sequence of C.korshinskii>S.psammophila>H.rhamnides>A.sphaerphala.(2)Compare exuberant growing period with early growing period,the single-root shear force and strength of four plant straight root result:exuberant growing period more than the early growing period.In the early growing period,the average shear strength of C.korshinskii,S.psammophila,H.rhamnoides and A.sphaerocephala is(9.99±2.48)Mpa?(8.81±2.18)Mpa?(4.26±1.11)Mpa?(2.45±0.75)Mpa.In the exuberant growing period,the average shear strength of C.korshinskii,S.psammophila,H.rhamnoides and A.sphaerocephala is(11.58±2.71)Mpa?(9.62±2.37)Mpa?(5.03±1.22)Mpa?(2.93±0.99Mpa)The single-root shear force and strength of four plant lateral root branch same result n the early growing period,the average shear strength of C.korshinskii,S.psammophila,H.rhamnoides and A.sphaerocephala is(1.81±0.42)Mpa?(1.43±0.28)Mpa?(1.11±0.28)Mpa?(0.58±0.16Mpa).In the exuberant growing period,the average shear strength of C.korshinskii,S.psammophila,H.rhamnoides and A.sphaerocephala is(2.76±0.64)Mpa?(1.77±0.44)Mpa?(1.60±0.40)Mpa?(0.92±0.28)Mpa.(3)Under different loading rates,the single-root shear and strength of the C.korshinskii,S.psammop hila,H.rhamnides lateral root branch and straight root follow is 860mm/min>500mm/min>200mm/min>10mm/min?(4)In the four plants within the range from 1.00 to 2.00mm,2.50~3.50mm?4.00~5.00mm,the single-root shear and strength of the C.korshinskii,S.psammop hila H.rhamnides follow sequence of adjacent upper straight root>adjacent subordinate straight roots>lateral root branch.the single-root shear and strength of the A.sphaerphala follow the sequence of djacent upper straight root>lateral root branch>adjacent subordinate straight roots.The vulnerability of C.korshinskii,S.psammop hila H.rhamnides is lateral root branch,but A.sphaerphala is straight root connected at the lateral root branch.
