In this paper,take the straight roots and lateral-root branches of Caragana microphylla,Salix psammophila and Hippophae rhamnides as the research object.In May,the straight roots and lateral-root branches of three kinds of plant were applied three degrees of damage folding force(30%,50%,70%of limit breaking folding force).And then bury the roots after they were forced.When the roots self-repaired for three months(May to August)and five munths(May to October),dig them out and study their survival rate,activity value,change of root diameter,anti-fracture force and anti-fracture strength Exploring the Mechanical Characteristics of radial damage plant roots after self-repairing.The results are as follows:(1)The straight roots and lateral-root branches of 3 plants at 1?4mm diameter range beard,after 3 months and 5 months,the average survival rate was not less than 60%;The root activity value after self-repairing was less than parallel contrast.The root diameter of the 3 plants increased after its self-repairing.(2)After the straight roots and lateral-root branches under 3 damage degree self-repaired,its ultimate anti-fracture force is positively correlated of power function with diameter,the anti-fracture strength is negatively correlated of power function with diameter.Compared with the contrast group,the ultimate anti-fracture force and anti-fracture strength of the root system were decreased after self-repairing,and the bigger the damage force,the greater the reduction.(3)For the same degree of damage straight roots and lateral-root branches,the anti-fracture strength and anti-fracture force of Caragana and Hippophae straight roots were bigger than that of lateral-root branches after three months,The Caragana lateral-root branches were to bear 30%,50%,70%limit fracture after 3 months self-repaired,the anti-fracture strength is 67%,65%,65%of the straight roots;the anti-fracture strength of Hippophae lateral-root branches after-repairing were 59%,57%,53%of the straight root.the resistance to straight roots and lateral-root branches of Salix were not obvious.(4)Three plants' straight roots in the same degree of damage under stress self-repaired for 3 months(May?August),the ultimate anti-fracture force,anti-fracture strength is less than that self-repaired for 5 months(May?October).(5)The ultimate anti-fracture force and anti-fracture strength of the 3 kinds of plants suffered from different degrees of damage after its self-repaired are the same with the plants for normal growth:Caragana>Salix>Hippophae.
