Metamaterials are special electromagnetic materials with artificial unit structures that have many unique electromagnetic properties compared to traditional natural materials.A lot of researches have been carried out on metamaterial absorbers based on planar structures,and rich results have been obtained.However,there are few studies on metamaterial absorbers with curved structures.As a special wide-angle structure of target electromagnetic scattering,the dihedral corner is a basic model for studying the interaction of electromagnetic waves,and is also widely used in the measurement of radar scattering cross sections.Therefore,the research on the electromagnetic properties of dihedral corners composed of absorbing metamaterials has important research value for target electromagnetic stealth.In this paper,the dihedral corners composed of absorbing metamaterials with two kinds of different unit structures are designed and their absorption characteristics are studied.Firstly,the research status of metamaterials,curved metamaterials and dihedral corner metamaterials and related basic theories and experimental methods are introduced.The paper establishes the electromagnetic model of the planar absorbing metamaterials and the dihedral corners based on them,and analyzes the unit structure,the number of unit cells and the absorbing mechanism.The paper designs two dihedral corner models composed of two kinds of absorbing metamaterials with different unit structures,and simulates and experimentally tests their absorbing properties.The experimental results are basically consistent with the simulation.It is found that compared with planar absorbing metamaterials with the same unit structure and parameters,the straight dihedral corner composed of two absorbing metamaterials unit cells can produce more absorption peaks,and the absorbing of metal ring and metal discs shaped structure metamaterial dihedral corner enhances absorption in TM mode.At the same time,the two dihedral corners also have polarization-sensitive absorption characteristics;the dihedral corners of different opening and closing angles composed of the absorbing metamaterials also have different absorption characteristics,compared with the right-angle absorbing metamaterial dihedral corner,The dihedral comer of absorbing metamaterials with an acute angle and an obtuse angle can produce more perfect absorption peaks in the high frequency range.The unique electromagnetic properties of the dihedral corner composed of absorbing metamaterials have potential application prospects in stealth technology.
