In this paper,taking a polymetallic mining area in Inner Mongolia as the research object,which is located in the southwestern margin of the Da Hinggan Mountains middle-south metallogenic belt.It is a favorable area of polymetallic ore deposit.But due to the study area less outcrop,surface weathering layer is thicker,more intense coverage,using geological mapping,trenching and other projects failed to reveal a good solution to the deep structure and occurrence of ore body and other issues.Therefore,it is necessary for the mining exploration in deep using comprehensive geophysical-geochemical method.On the basis of analyzing the applicability and effectiveness of geophysical and geochemical methods,the paper selects in the study area to carry out soil geochemical survey,IP intermediate gradient survey,combined profile measurement and high-power monopole-dipole IP sounding.The paper mainly focuses on the practical application of each method,and the deep verification of the drilling engineering is carried out.Finally,it is proved that the geochemical characteristics of the study area are mainly based on Pb,Zn,As,Bi,Ag and Mo,and corresponding apparent resistivity and apparen chargeability performance are middle-high resistance and high polarization characteristics.The paper presumes underground within 300?600m range polymetallic mine or mineralization enriched.Various geophysical and geochemical results of the study area have good relationship and mutual confirmation.Drilling results and interpretation of the results of geophysical-geochemical methods has a good match.Combining actual geological conditions,the paper determines that the formation of polymetallic mine in the study area is related to the early second magma intrusion in Yanshan.The ore controlling geological structure are the NW-trending fracture alteration zone and rock fracture.The successful practice of the prospecting model proves that the geophysical-geochemical prospecting method and layout program conducted in the study area is reasonably practicable.It has some guidance to the exploration of multi metal ore in the adjacent mining area and similar geological conditions.
