With the continuous development of electromagnetic theory,the study of electromagnetic properties of anisotropic media has become an increasingly important project.This thesis elaborately treats the scattering and transmission characteristics of a typical electromagnetic(EM)beam passing through a uniaxial anisotropic medium(uniaxial anisotropic circular cylinder and slab).The main contributions of the author's works are as follows:1.The cylindrical vector wave functions(CVWFs)areGauss beam,Hermite-Gauss beam,Laguerre-Gauss beam,electric dipole radiation field)are introduced,and the expressions of some typical electromagnetic beams(derived.2.By expanding the internal fields within and scattered fields from a uniaxial anisotropic circular cylinder in terms of CVWFs,an exact semi-analytical method for analyzing the scattering characteristics of an EM beam incident on a uniaxial anisotropic circular cylinder is presented,for which the EM boundary conditions and projection method are used.For the propagation of some typical EM beams,normalized field intensity distributions are evaluated and discussed briefly.3.By expanding the internal field,reflection field and transmission field of a uniaxial anisotropic slab with appropriate cylindrical vector wave functions,the expansion coefficients are determined by using the boundary conditions of electromagnetic field and projection method.For some typical EM beams,normalized field intensity distributions are evaluated and discussed briefly.
