Hyperspectral remote sensing has the characteristics of high spectral resolution, uniform spectrum and large amount of information, which has become a research hotspot in recent years. At present, hyperspectral remote sensing technology has been widely applied to many fields such as geological exploration, environmental monitoring, agricultural production, and disaster monitoring. In this paper, remote sensing lithology, stratigraphic and tectonic interpretations were carried out in the Liuyuan area of Gansu Province. The major elements and spectral data of granite and basalt in the study area were modeled by partial least squares method, and the distribution map of major elements in rocks was obtained. The main research contents and results are as follows:?1?The preprocessing methods of hyperspectral remote sensing image data are summarized, including data resampling, atmospheric correction, geometric correction, etc. The principal component analysis?PCA?and the minimum noise fraction rotation?MNF?are compared. The results show that MNF is more Suitable for dimensionality reduction of hyperspectral images.?2?Compared with the field mapping method, which is affected by the layout point and the accuracy of the mapping, there are often shortcomings such as inaccurate description of the stratum or geological boundary and insufficient understanding of the structure.Based on the existing geological data in the study area, this paper carried out the remote sensing interpretation of the study area, and made a more accurate division of the stratum, lithology and structure, and completed a 1:100,000 remote sensing geological interpretation map.?3?In this paper, the major element inversion of the granite and basalt in the study area was studied by partial least squares?PLS?method, and obtained the distribution major element maps of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,MgO,CaO and TiO2 in the study area. This research summarizes the processing methods of hyperspectral remote sensing images, including resampling, geometric correction, atmospheric correction, etc.Based on the hyperspectral remote sensing data, the geological interpretation of the Liuyuan area in Gansu Province was carried out,and the original geological map was re-determined from the aspects of lithologic stratum and fault structure. This study proves that hyperspectral remote sensing has good potential in lithologic composition inversion, and has certain guiding significance for material composition inversion in similar areas.
