This paper discussed the subject content of woody plant diversity, geographical distribution and spatial distribution pattern in Hami, through field investigation, insider interviews, data access and other methods, based on the investigation of woody plants in Hami,in order to provide reference for the optimization and utilization of Hami ecosystem services and biodiversity protection. There were 416 species of woody plants, belonging to 106 genus and 44 family in Hami. The advantage family were Rosaceae,Rhamnaceae,Polygonaceae and other 14 families(include 337 species). The advantage was obvious in family. In the form of life form, arbor species was the most abundant, accounting for 51.68% of the total, followed by shrubs and woody vines.Wild woody plants included 155 species of,cultivated woody plants included 271 species.Woody plants had 168 species, belonging to 66 genera and 35 family. The proportion of introduced and native tree species about 2:1,and native tree species didn't play a leading role.Among the 7 types of resources, the most edible plants were 180 species, accounting for 43.27% of the total, while only 17 species of aromatic plants. There were 155 species of wild woody plants, belonging to 60 genera and 25 family, mainly small desert shrubs and small half trees desert. The dominant families had 7 families(108 species),accounting for 69.68% of the total species. The maximum was Polygonaceae, with 24 species. The geographical elements of the family in this area were divided into 5 areal types and 3 variants, and the geographical components of genera were divided into 7 areal types and 7 variations. The floristic elements were mainly temperate elements, and the tropical elements were less. There were 7 endemic species in China,5 endemic species in Xinjiang and 1 species endemic in Hami, plant formation was the result of long-term adaptation and evolution between plants and temperate continental arid climate zones in this area. There were 10 species of rare and endangered plants which listed in the red list of Chinese biological diversity-higher plant volume. It showed that Hami has certain regional biodiversity and high conservation value. The diversity of woody plants in families, genus and species levels showed that the geographical distribution pattern is very similar in the Hami, and the distribution units in different regions is obviously different.Central and northeastern regions with species richness were the highest, and north,West,South and Southeast species diversity was relatively poor. The distribution pattern of the differentiation intensity was significantly correlated with the species diversity distribution pattern, and the greater the intensity of differentiation, the number of species increased. From the point of view of the distribution of plant species diversity, through the clustering of the similarity, the woody plants in Hami can be divided into 13 zones.Ancient and famous trees had a long history, and the total number of resources was relatively rich, amounting to a total of 2509 strains, belonging to 7 genera and 6 family and 12 species.Due to historical and climate condition in the region,Populus L and Salix L trees had the superiority. The number of Salix L was the most, accounting for 70.19% of the total. There were 1428 ancient trees in this area, one level tree with a total of 38 strains, two level tree with a total of 69 strains, and three level tree with a total of 1397 strains. The age structure presents growth type and low age class trees occupied a larger proportion of the total number of 55.68%.There were 1005 famous wood, mainly Salix alba L.The trees and the distribution of natural and human was closely related to the group distribution, overall was to oasis as the center of radial distribution.
