The polar ice core records a wealth of historical stratification information and is one of the main ways to study the paleoclimate.And the ice core is extremely significant for the study of paleoclimate.Because the ice core is difficult to drill and has a long cycle,the complete ice core sample drilled from the pole is very precious.The existing ice core analyzer mainly causes irreversible damage to the ice core in chemical and physical manner,resulting in low utilization rate.Therefore,it is necessary to study a device that does not destroy the ice core structure and can achieve the purpose of analysis.Because the ice core in the polar ice layer has different air concentration,particle concentration and ice core size,the intensity information of the scattered light is different under the illumination of the light source.Image acquisition and optical analysis of the ice core can yield valuable stratified information.Therefore,this paper designs and implements an optical scanning device that can record the ice core profile.By studying the optical linear scanning technology of ice core profile and comparing different design schemes,the overall architecture of the system was determined.The whole system consists of mechanical structure,lighting system,embedded software and hai*dware,client software and image processing.The embedded system is based on the STM32F103 series of microcontrollers.The host computer synchronously controls the track feed system,the intelligent temperature control system,the illumination system,and the linear scan camera.Through repeated matching of camera scanning speed,exposure duration,motion speed,trigger delay and lighting system,clear,continuous and complete data acquisition of the ice core is realized.Finally,the obtained ice core image is farther processed,the effective area of the ice core image is extracted,and the optical characteristics are extracted,and the two-dimensional distribution of the ice core sample is recorded.The system has been fully functional tested in the laboratory to verify the functionality and stability of the system.The system will soon follow the China 36th voyage Antarctic expedition team in the Antarctic experiment,the future will be applied to China's deep ice core drilling project.
