The study area is located in the eastern part of Xingxingxia-Hanshan-Zhusileng block at the intersection of North China Plate,Tarim Plate and Kazakhstan Plate.Iron, copper, molybdenum, gold and polymetallic deposits(spots)have been found in Central and Southern Beishan Region. The study area has superior metallogenic geological conditions. This paper is based on the achievement data collected from the area of 1:20,000,000 regional surveys and stream sediment survey, collated and analyzed 1:50000 soil geochemical survey in the Weiboshan area, combined with geology and mineral resources, the favorable ore-forming areas are delineated and metallogenic prognosis is made for that areas. The main results are as following:(1)According to the analysis of element geochemical background, geological background and other metallogenic information, the main metallogenic elements in this area are tungsten-molybdenum group and rare earth group elements. The main ore-bearing strata is the first rock group of the Paleoproterozoic Beishan group. The ore-forming favorable intrusions are Jurassic coarse-grained,graphic granite,Carboniferous biotite granite and granodiorite.(2)The geochemical field of the elements is characterized by " banding and zone " distribution. In the geochemical abnormally significant section, some elements are always high value anomalies, while others are low background.Geochemical abnormal high value areas or high background areas are often formed at favorable geological bodies, complex tectonic areas, intrusion and the inner and outer contact zones of wall rocks.(3)Based on the comprehensive analysis, comparison study of the existing geological and mineral data and 15,000 soil geochemical survey results, the enrichment, evolution and distribution of minerals in the work area are preliminarily summarized, and two prospecting targets are delineated.(4)According to the metallogenic geological background, occurrence location, temporal and spatial distribution regularity of various minerals in the whole area, and metallogenic prediction,it is considered that the pegmatite veins interpenetrating in the Jurassic granite in the Weiboshan area are favorable places for the occurrence of rubidium-niobium(tantalum)polymetallic minerals with great metallogenic potential.Late Carboniferous biotite granite and granodiorite are favorable areas for W-Mo group and rare earth elements.Tectonic activities in Chaluping area are complex, and the metallogenic elements have been activated and enriched, thus possessing the potential of hydrothermal copper-gold deposits.
