Geological Characteristics And Prospecting Direction Of Porphyry Molybdenum Deposit In Xifeng Area,Liaoning Province

Xifeng area of Liaoning Province is located in the south of Jilin-Heilongjiang fold system and the southern margin of Bulia-Zhangguangcailing gigantic granite belt.The metallogenic belt belongs to the southern extension of Fuanbao-Daheishan molybdenum metallogenic belt in Jilin Province.The metallogenic geological conditions in the area are superior and the magmatic activities are frequent.The Yanshanian magmatic activities are particularly intense.The Middle Jurassic fine-grained biotite granodiorite,porphyry-like medium-grained biotite monzonite granite and medium-fine-grained biotite monzonite granite are closely related to the molybdenum mineralization.Structures are well developed in this area,including brittle and ductile faults.Brittle faults are mainly composed of four groups of NE,NW,NEE,N-N trending faults,and NE trending faults are the most developed.The NE trending structure,represented by the Yushu fault,has a large cutting depth,which controls the generation and development of the Mesozoic continental basin.It has an obvious controlling effect on the metallogenesis of this area.Some ore points and abnormal water system sediments are distributed along this belt,which is an important ore-conducting and ore-hosting structure in this area.Based on the study of the regional geological background in Xifeng area,the field investigation and comprehensive study on four molybdenum deposits,namely Lingyun molybdenum deposit,Tongtai molybdenum deposit,Wugongtun molybdenum deposit and Fuju molybdenum deposit,have been carried out.It is considered that the molybdenum deposits in Xifeng area belong to porphyry type and molybdenite is mainly veinlet-like and disseminated.It occurs in the middle Jurassic intermediate-acid granite and its fissures or near the contact zone between monzonite and rhyolite porphyry,and the stronger the silicification,the stronger the molybdenum mineralization.The porphyry type molybdenum deposit in Xifeng area is similar to Daheishan molybdenum deposit in the middle of Jilin Province in metallogenic geological conditions and metallogenic epoch.Based on the metallogenic geological conditions in the study area and the geochemical anomaly data of 1:50000 stream sediments,the metallogenic prognosis was carried out.Two prospecting target areas were further delineated,and the molybdenum polymetallic prospecting target areas in the Jirentun area were carried out by means of geological survey,1:10000 soil geochemical survey,induced polarization intermediate ladder survey and trench exploration.Two molybdenum ore bodies have been found,which provide the necessary basis for further prospecting and exploration in this area.
