Based on a special background of the Xiangshan ore field as the largest volcanic-type uranium ore field in China,this paper chooses the No.8 mineralized zone of the Heyuanbei uranium deposit in the western part of the field as the research object.After an analysis of the previous study and the last volcanic-type uranium mineralized theory,this paper carried out the field geological survey,deep drilling exploration and comprehensive analysis.The No.8 mineralized zone of the Heyuanbei uranium deposit was controlled by NS-trending Kumingshan-Xiaopi fault zone,the uranium ore are hosed by the secondly fault or structural fracture zone.Ores was characterized by a great deal of ores,concentrated ores,small or medium size,veined or lentoid form ores.The uranium ores occurrence was controlled by fault zone,and showed NS-trending with a dip angle of48°~66°.And the ores was hosted by porphyroclastic lava from Ehulin group and rhyodacite from Daguding group of early cretaceous division.The hydrothermal alteration mainly was hematitization,hydromica and fireflies.The ore mineral mainly was uraninite and minor uranothorite and calcouranite.The metallic mineral mainly was galena,sphalite,pyrite.The gangue mineral was sericite,chlorite,calcite,fluorite,apatite and so on.The uranium mineralization type was uranium-hematite type and uraniumfluorite,mica type.After systematical and comprehensive analysis and research of uranium mineralization characteristics,ore-controlling factors and genetic type,this paper indicated that NS-trending fault zone,the interface of volcanic lava rock,the contact interface of the hidden granite porphyry should be took more attention and be chosen as the main explorative object.The prospecting direction should take the southern and deep part of the Kumingshan-Xiaopi fault zone,eastern part of NS-trending F9 and F10 fault zone,the two sides of lamprophyre vein,peripheral and deep part as the future targeting which is important for the increase of the quantity of uranium resource in Xiangshan uranium ore field.
