Study On The Efficiency Of Potato Production In Inner Mongolia

In 2016,the Ministry of Agriculture of China proposed the strategy of potato grain production.The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,as the major potato production area in China,has resource advantages,and the potato industry has also become one of the pillar industries for increasing the income of farmers in Inner Mongolia.However,in recent years,with the emergence of problems such as low income of potatoes and unsalable sales,it has brought challenges to the development of the potato industry in Inner Mongolia.Based on this situation,the study about production efficiency of potato in Inner Mongolia is very necessary.Based on the potato production status in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,this paper first uses the cost-benefit data of potato production in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2004 to 2016 to analyze the overall situation about production efficiency of potato in Inner Mongolia using DEA method.The results showed that the comprehensive technical efficiency index of potato production in Inner Mongolia fluctuated during the 13 years from 2004 to 2016.During the 13 years,the comprehensive technical efficiency of potato production in Inner Mongolia reached a completely effective year,only two years have passed.From 2005 to 2009,the main reason for the inefficiency of integrated potato technology efficiency in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was the relatively low efficiency of pure technology.In 2011-2016,the reason for the inefficiency of comprehensive technical efficiency was mainly due to the relatively low scale efficiency.Then use the cross-sectional data of annual cost-benefit of 7 banner counties in Inner Mongolia during 2013-2016,the DEA method was used to analyze the potato production efficiency,and the comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency,and scale efficiency of potato production in each county were obtained,And for 2016 non-DEA effective counties,has given corrective measures to correct the input-output redundancy and potato production efficiency.Then was used to analyze the factors affecting potato production efficiency.The results show that the labor cost,rental operation expenses,and sale price per 50 kilograms have a effect on the potato production efficiency in Inner Mongolia.Finally,based on the above analysis,this paper puts forward suggestions to promote the increase of potato production efficiency in Inner Mongolia.
