With the explosive growth of data in the information society,the limitation of traditional storage technology is becoming more and more obvious.The suitable recording material is one of the effective ways to break through the problem.Compared with the traditional recording materials such as silver halide and dichromate gelatin,the photopolymershave become the focus of high-density holographic storage materials because of their preferable holographic recording properties.There are many evaluation indices for holographic characteristics of recording materials,such as diffraction efficiency,sensitivity and refractive index modulation.However,the holographic properties of photopolymer materials can not get the best value at the same time,which affects the practicability and commercialization of high-density holographic storage.This paper is based on the theoretical study and research basis,starting from the current situation of the development of photopolymer holographic recording material,we prepare photopolymer material and explore the holographic characteristics.This article mainly includes the following aspects of the work:1.We prepare a red sensitive photopolymer with acrylamide as monomer,N,N'-methylene bis acrylamide as supplementary monomer,polyvinyl alcohol as binder,triethanolamine as photoinitiator and methylene blue as photosensitizer.2.The relationship between the transmittance and the exposure time was tested to analysis the scattering noise of the photopolymer.The maximum transmittance of10wt%polyvinyl alcohol photopolymer reached 75%,and the scattering noise of materials was less in holographic recording process.3.We use the symmetrical optical path to record transmission and non-tilting gratings.The exposure characteristics of photopolymers are studied from the aspects of exposure intensity,resolution and photosensitizer content.And holographic parameters,such as diffraction efficiency and refractive index modulation are analyzed.The experimental results show that the diffraction efficiency increases with the increase of exposure intensity and resolution in a range.The maximum diffraction efficiency is 35.4%when the concentration of photosensitizer is 2.6×10-4mol/L,the exposure value is 6.5,and the recording angle is 90 degrees.4.In view of the new photopolymer materials and the silver halide holographic recording materials,the recording process and the holographic characteristics of the holographic grating are compared,and holographic storage experiment was carried out.
