High-density digital holographic data storage and recording materials have been becoming one of the hot issues of mass data information storage. On the base of the review of the process of high-density optical information storage technology, the holographic storage principle and characteristics of photopolymer, the study has been done about photopolymer recording materials in this dissertation as follows:1. A novel riboflavin sensitized photopolymer material based on polyvinyl-alcohol for holographic storage is fabricated; by optimizing the components of photopolymer, a reasonable optimal concentration is obtained.2. The dependences of the diffraction efficiency, exposure sensitivity as a function of exposure times, exposure energy and thickness of samples are investigated, and the causes of these changes are presented.3. Photo-induced reaction processes and factor of Bragg mismatch in the photopolymer for holographic storage are studied. On the basic of analysis of the theory, the relationship of Bragg mismatch and exposure time is deuced. The experimental results compare with analysis of the theory and they are fitted well. All those show that the analysis of the Bragg mismatch is reasonable.4. On the base of analysis of noise resource, the relationships of transmittance dependent on exposure times and scan angle are discussed, respectively. The presence of noise gratings of exposure process is demonstrated.
