The Syrmaticus ellioti is a unique species of our country, and is also a species of CITES appendix, the near threatened species of IUCN and the protection of animals in China. The number of Syrmaticus ellioti is relatively small and the distribution is very narrow. The distribution points identified are Zhejiang,Anhui,Fujian,Guangdong,Guangxi,Hunan,Jiangxi,Guizhou and Hubei. The Syrmaticus ellioti are birds perch sex,not fly, dependent on the environment, for a long time,a large number of human activity disturbance, illegal hunting and habitat destruction is the main reason for the decrease in the number of Syrmaticus ellioti, therefore,It is necessary to take measures to strengthen the protection and restoration of the Syrmaticus ellioti.Returning to the historical distribution point after the acclimation training of species is one of the ways to save endangered species.November 8,2016,We wear colored foot rings(?blue?red)for 44(25?49?)Syrmaticus ellioti of breeding site of wild pheasants in Guangxi Normal University, and trained the Syrmaticus ellioti in the historical distribution point--Maoershan National Nature Reserve,Guangxi Province of them, adapt them to the climate, the living environment, the ability to feed and avoid predators. In the week before the release,22 Syrmaticus ellioti were fitted with a radio transmitter, followed by a tracking position after release,to study their diffusion behavior.By releasing the Syrmaticus ellioti with wild training,we hope to restore the population of the Syrmaticus ellioti and protect the diversity of the species. It is of great significance to protect and save this endangered pheasant, and it also has some reference value for the protection and rescue of other endangered pheasants in China.During the period from November 2016 to April 2017,we used the telescope to observe the behavior of Syrmaticus ellioti during the acclimation training period.By adopting the combination of direct observation and interview survey method,we use the Radio-tracking,GPS,compass,telescope to study the dispersion and the habitats selection of the restocked pheasant. In the tracking process of chicken, were set up in the area of the spread of four sample line, when analyzing the habitat of chicken stable distribution area were set up 12 experimental samples and 20 treatment to collect data for statistical analysis.Based on our results,we come up with the suggestion for the conservation of Syrmaticus ellioti in Maoershan National Nature Reserve,Guangxi Province. The results show as follows:1.When released to the net shed,84.9%of the Syrmaticus ellioti appeared were startled; All of the males were startled, and 52 percent of the females were alarmed.2.There are four ways to feeding for Syrmaticus ellioti, including pecking, planeing feeding, jumping feeding, chasing feeding. The results indicated that fruits, buds and leaves of the plant, which belong to 18 families,28 species, were found in their diet. The rose family accounts for 37.5% of the total plant intake.Besides, four orders of insects, such as Lepidoptera,Orthoptera,Hymenoptera and Coleoptera, were also found eaten by this pheasant. There were 17 deaths during the acclimation training period, and the mortality rate was 23.3%.3.The pheasant distributed stably within 1 km of the release point. The longest distance from the release point is 3 km and the nearest is 200 m.The diffusion area is 5.11km2.4.Through the tracking of the pheasant's tail and the anatomy of the dead individual,it was found that there were 16 kinds of plant-eating food in the process of the spread of the long-tailed pheasant.the animal food had the lepidoptera and the coleoptera.5.The results of the investigation on the released Syrmaticus ellioti show that the survival rate is 33.3% and the living individuals are good.6.Syrmaticus ellioti usually selected coniferous forest,conifer-broadleaf forest and deciduous broadleaved forest as their habitats.Compare experimental samples and treatment samples by T test. The results showed that there were five factors affecting the habitat selection of the pheasants, including the tree cover, the shrub coverage, the bamboo cover, the distance from the water source, and the distance from the highway. And there was no obvious influence on the selection of the pheasants habitat in number of trees, herbage coverage, elevation, and slope.7.The study found that the pheasants choose the number of tree in the sample of habitat was 9.94±1.30,the tree coverage was 80.312%±21.56%,the shrub coverage was 44.19%±3.69%,the bamboo coverage was 28.58%±8.88%,the herb coverage breadth was 47.5%±31.52%,the elevation was 1111.688m±60.67 m,the slope was 15.93 °±9.64 °,distance from water source was 10m±3.29 m,the distance from highway was 215m±91.25 m.
