Groundwater resource is a kind of precious natural resource,the sustainable development and utilization of water resource also directly affect the social development.The water source is an essential and supporting infrastructure for urbanization,people must not only consider hydrogeology and environmental conditions,but also optimize the allocation and protection of water resources while constructing water source.As a result,the new water supply will bring no ecological or environmental problems.This article has designed and planned the water source project on the west bank of WenChuan River by consulting much literature or investigating hydrogeological conditions,besides,we have proposed reasonable groundwater exploitation scheme and protection scheme.The research results are as follows:?1?Analysis the groundwater source and sink in the equilibrium area,the water equilibrium method was used to calculate shallow groundwater resources on the west bank of Wenchuan River.As a result,the total recharge in the equilibrium area is 57612.51m3/d,the total discharge is 50080.91m3/d,the equilibrium result of groundwater resources is positive with a numerical value of 7531.6 m3/d.?2?The conceptual and numerical model of the three-dimensional flow is constructed sequentially,Visual Modflow model is solved,identified and verified by using the measured water level data,and the result show that existing model was accurate and reliable.At the same time,four types of exploitation schemes were designed for the west bank of WenChuan River and the best choice was scheme 3,that is,the extracting volume of 1#,ZH1,and 5#was1960m3/d,the other six wells were extracted for 3200m3/d,therefore,the total designed volume is 25000m3/d.To meet the water supply of 32000m3/d,the west bank should borrow7000m3/d of water from the east bank in the Wenchuan River.The hydrogeological comparison method was used to calculate the groundwater resource in the east bank of the Wenchuan River,and the remaining exploitation potential can satisfy with the requirement in the West Bank.?3?The surface and groundwater samples were used to evaluate water quality,and the water quality is applicable for daily life by treating.According to evaluate&forecast the water resource,the water source protection zone on the west bank of Wenchuan River was divided into three levels,and some protective measures were proposed to guarantee continuous mining.
