A preliminary investigation on the cave biodiversity in Jingxi Karst was made,with the following main results:1.In total,over 400 cave-dwelling animal specimens were collected from 34 limestone caves in Jingxi Karst.81 species(or morphological species)were identified which belong to 64 genera,42 families,24 orders,11 classes and 3 phyla.Among them,64 species were Arthropoda(about 79% of all the cave animals)and 25 for Insecta(about 39.1% of Arthropoda).The result shows that there is a rich cave biodiversity in Jingxi karst.2.Osteichthyes(5 species),Decapoda(1 species),Pseudoscorpionida(2 species),Carabidae(4 species),Pselaphidae(2 species),Scydmaenidae(1 species)are considered as the rarer groups.Diplopoda(9 species)and Isopoda(6 species)are the richer groups.Diestrammena is the most common cave creature which could found in every cave.3.The new discovered cave animals are including: Diplopoda(Hyleoglomeris sp.?Desmoxytess sp.1?Desmoxytess sp.2?Pyrgodesmidae sp.?Paradoxosomatidae sp.1?Paradoxosomatidae sp.2 ? Eutrichodemus sp.? Paracortina sp.? Glyphiulus sp.)?Isopoda(Philosciidae sp.?Burmoriscus sp.1?Burmoriscus sp.2?Agnaridae sp.?Exalloniscus sp.? Dryadillo sp.)? Carabidae(Trechini sp.1 ? Trechini sp.2 ?Tonkinaphaenops sp.1?Tonkinaphaenops sp.2)?Pselaphidae(Nipponobythus sp.?Euconnus sp.)?Scydmaenidae(Araneibatrus sp.)and so on.Leiodytes vietnamensis Wang,Sato & Yang,1998 was found in China for the first time.
