Ground Penetrating Radar is a nondestructive, efficient, precise geophysical prospecting equipment. This paper discusses the superiority of GPR between with other detection methods in the detection of Fushou Ditch,an ancient underground culvert in Ganzhou City.It describes the research status of GPR at our country and abroad in various fields applied to it,and expounds the theoretical basis of GPR and it's detection principle, system composition, the propagation and penetration of electromagnetic waves during the detection of GPR.The correlation coefficient of reception, dielectric properties of various media and their influence on propagation and penetration of electromagnetic waves. The setting of various parameters when using a GPR.It also introduces the signal gain of GPR,and filter processing and migration processing to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of target signal and interference noise and suppressing noise image processing methods in image interpretation by GPR.Besides,it introduces the general distribution situation, structure form, construction materials, approximate depth of burial ditch and the geometric dimensions of Fushou Ditch in Ganzhou City.We apply the GPR detection method to the archaeological field of underground culverts.Combining the relevant historical data of Fushou Ditch and the information from various parties, the instrumental test was first performed on the Fushou Ditch, which has been proved in the previous period and reliable. The result of test detection prove that the application of GPR in Fushou Ditch,Ganzhou City was effective, reliable, and accurate. The characteristics of its imaging in the image of GPR obtained from the Fushou Ditch of the Jun alley is the basis for judgment, and other underground pipelines are excluded from the GPR radar image obtained from the detection of other sections that may be distributed in Fushou Ditch in the later period. The imaging in radar images can make us avoiding the misjudgment of other pipelines and reduces the workload in later verificationperiod. At the same time, according to the characteristics of FuShou Ditch imaging in the image, the underground culvert with similar features imaging in GPR image can be found. The geological radar was used to detect the Houde Road,Dagong Roads and Bajing Road in the Zhanggong District of Zhangzhou City.According to the detection conditions and influencing factors of different road and underground media conditions,we use signal gain,band-pass filtering and migration processing to make further inferences about the specific trend of the underground culverts suspected of Fushou ditch. The result of antenna detection at a center frequency of 200 MHz is used to verify the result of 100 MHz center frequency antenna detection. The error of the two times detection is analyzed to verify whether the detection result is reliable and whether it meets the detection accuracy and resolution requirements of the GPR.After the acquisition of the data collection and the analysis of the results, open the inspection well near the survey line of the underground culvert that appears in the geological radar image that is suspected to be Fushou Ditch.Physically verify the results of the GPR detection to further verify the detection result.According to the physical verification,it is proved that The underground culvert suspected of Fushou Ditch in the GPR image of the survey line is indeed Fushou Ditch,an ancient underground drainage culvert in Ganzhou City. The inferred underground culvert of suspected Fushougou in the GPR image of other survey lines is Fushou Ditch imaging in the GPR image. The detection results of the detection areas of Houde Road,Dagong Road and Bajing Road provide the government departments of Ganzhou City the important reference materials for the judgment of the distribution direction of Fushou Ditch, and its archaeological research, excavation and protection,as well as its management and maintenance.
