It is of great theoretical and engineering significance to study the seakeeping of the buoy with full appendages in the waves of high sea condition and launching underwater which is driven by buoyancy of the buoy with full appendages.This paper research these questions by the way of both experiments and numerical simulations.An innovative method has been proposed to improve the performance of buoy with full appendages in the waves.The method was by means of hanging an external ballast instead of changing the internal layout.A series of experiment has been produced to make a contrast on the situation with external ballast and not,which obtained the RAOs of buoy with full appendages and presented a forecast in level 5 sea condition by the linear system theory.Besides,a relatively large wave height was applied to research on the odd rolling and nonlinear transient response.Moreover,the method of CFD was applied to solve the question that model tests cannot deal with.The results showed that the way to hanging an external ballast becomingly can improve the seakeeping of buoy with full appendages and the odd rolling exists in high sea condition.The experimental and numerical simulation investigation had been designed to conduct the experiment of the buoy with full appendages launched underwater and driven by buoyancy.The experimental investigation presented in this paper had covered several contents including the model making,the unfolding pattern of the spoilers and empennages,the arrangement of underwater camera and lighting system,the design of underwater launching device,the design of internal measuring system and so on.The experiments were conducted in the towing tank to find the influence between the size of spoilers and the hydrodynamic characteristics of the buoy.Different flow velocities and different launching locations had also been taken into consideration.Through the experiment,the effect law between the size of spoilers and hydrodynamic characteristics of the buoy was showed out.In addition,the effect law between the different lunching locations and the hydrodynamic characteristics of the buoy was presented in this paper.Moreover,the influence of different flow velocities on the motion of the buoy out of the well had been discovered.Besides,the mothed of CFD was designed to simulate the unfolding progress of the appendages and the floating track of the buoy.
