China is a country with vast territory and great differences between different regions. As for the increase of urban population, the expansion of infrastructure construction and especially the expansion of construction land which make the differences of urban land resource tense degree and ecological environment deteriorating degree in the different regions. So in a new round of urban planning construction,we are in urgent need to find a scientific way to coordinate the urban development of eastern, central and western regions and to solve the status of landscape deterioration that due to the urban expansion. Therefore,it is of great significance to coordinating the development of the regions by studying the urban expansion of typical cities in the east, middle and west countries and urban expansion landscape effect. The thesis treats the three junction cities in the east, middle and west regions of"Belt and Road" as the research area.Using the Pearson chi-square model, fragrant entropy model and sensory merit model,it analyzes the urban expansion speed, degree of freedom and spread. In the analysis of the spatial and temporal changes of urban expansion at,it points out the expansion differences, and determines whether the urban development is "ideal" model. The gray relational matrices are used to analyze the driving force of urban expansion. Finally,it analyzes the influence of urban expansion on landscape. It can be used as a reference example for other "Belt and Road" city. The research demonstrates:Firstly,object-oriented nearest neighbor approach is more accurate to contract construction land.Secondly, all the cities display a tendency of high spread, low sensory.Thirdly, the main influencing factors of urban expansion in the study area are non-agricultural population and the number of college students.Fourthly, the landscape richness decreased and the ecological security was reduced. The main changes in the study area are dominated by vegetation land, cultivated land and construction land. Therefore,we should protect biodiversity as well as the arable land during the process of urbanization and promote "compact" city expansion by different policies.
