Glacier is an important part of cryosphere,which have high ornamental and scientific research value and is known as a "solid reservoir".As a typical monsoon ocean glacier area in China,Yulong Snow Mountain contains abundant water resources and has a high sensitivity to climate change.Therefore,the study of glacial change in this region is of profound significance.On July 15,2016,16 stakes were laid on the surface of Baishui glacier No.1 in Yulong Snow Mountain,with the aims of observing glacial movement and mass balance,established observation websites for glacier velocity and mass balance.difference GPS,TrimbleGeoXT,was used to measure the positions of these stakes.The results showed:1)The mass loss of Baishui glacier No.1 was significant for 19522017 years,the average annual mass balance was-415.9 mm w.e.,and the accumulated mass balance was-27 451 mm w.e..Since80 s,the mass loss of this glacier was accelerated because of the warming climate,especially since 21 st Century,the loss of the glacier mass was intense,if it continued to maintain the dimension,with the current trend,the Baishui glacier No.1will disappear;since 2010,the glacier's mass balance line height?ELA?rises to 5 030 m,the glacier accumulation area is completely disappeared and the glacier is in extreme instability;in the 20162017 year,the elevation of 4 6004 850 m glaciers,the mass balance gradient is 1600.8 mm w.e.?100m?-1,and the value of the balance decreases with the altitude.At the beginning and end of glacier ablation,the mass balance gradient is small.2)From May to the end of October for the Baishui glacier No.1ablation period,the end of October to May of the next year for this glacial accumulation period.Glacier ablation shows that the ablation period is longer than that of continental type glacier,and the accumulation period is shorter than that of continental type glacier,the amount of ablation is significantly greater than the accumulation amount,and the amount of glacier mass loss is large;the accumulation and ablation of glaciers are not obvious in the end of October to February,and the accumulation of glaciers is far greater than the amount of ablation in February and May;the accumulation amount is from June to October.0,there is no accumulation area in the glacier area.The glacier is ablated strongly;3)In 20162017 years,Baishui glacier No.1velocity is 16.29 m·y-1.The motion is smaller from the main line to the two sides in the cross section;the longitudinal section is gradually reduced from the end to the glacier,and the glacier movement direction is mostly moving down the mainstream line or slightly off the mainstream line;4)the average velocity of the movement day is greater than that of the whole year,and the movement speed of the ablation period,especially in August,is the most.In July-October,the speed of the movement of the glacier's bottom accelerated greatly;in October-February the next year,the glacier's movement speed was reduced because of the lack of glacier recharge,and the increase of glacier's movement rate under the action of gravity was increased in the next year from February to May.5)the movement speed of the glacier is not synchronized with the change of the melting speed of the glacier.In contrast,the change of the velocity of the glacier has a certain lag.The ice fissure with strong development separates the ice body on both sides,which affects the whole movement mode of the glacier,and makes the movement of the glacier more special.The retreat speed of glacier ends is accelerating and the trend of retreat will continue.
