The rapid development of national economy and overall construction have resulted in many spatial objects which have special political value,economic value,military value and social value.These spatial objects are so important that they cannot be neglected in city planning,terrorism combating,stability maintaining and national defense constructing.As a type of information carrier,spatial object multimedia data,which are ever-growing,are receiving more and more love and attention from users.On the one hand,they can satisfy users' information requirement.On the other hand,they also bring about many problems to data management and application.In addition to the common nature of multimedia,spatial object multimedia data have their own spatial characteristics.GIS(Geographic Information System)is a dedicated system used in geospatial data management and analysis,it has great advantages in integration with spatial object multimedia data.Starting with the spatial characteristics,this thesis research on the methods in organization,management and retrieval for spatial object multimedia data based on GIS.And these methods are applied to the following system construction.The main work and contribution of this thesis are listed below.(1)Spatial object multimedia data are organized to a series of information nodes by taking spatial object as a unit.And these nodes are classified and coded according to the information classification method,which generate a classification system of the spatial object information nodes.The demand of extending and applying the classification system are declared also(2)Methods of extracting media spatial characteristics and content spatial characteristics are propose based on time matching and spatial proximity respectively,as a result,the spatial object information nodes are established completely.Subsequently,the cross-media retrieval of spatial object multimedia data is realized by making use of the spatial characteristics.(3)The common coordinates transformation procedures and models between different CRSs(Coordinate Reference System)are summarized and concluded.Consistency processing of geospatial data is achieved by means of calculating transformation parameters of Brusa model.Strategies how to improve the precision of coordinates transformation by selecting shared points appropriately are also acquired.(4)The spatial object multimedia data management system based on GIS is designed and developed eventually.The system has implemented integrated management,cross-media retrieval and distribution service of spatial object multimedia data.The research work in the thesis indicates that it is a effective approach to resolve the problem about spatial object multimedia data by way of organizing and managing the multimedia data based on GIS.It can not only reduce the difficulty of data management and increase the data utilization efficiency,but also enhance the users' ability of data analyzing and decision making,even provide support for other related systems.
