Abstract/Summary:
The polarizability that is used to describe the extent to which charge cloud of an atom is deviated from the normal distribution in the external electric field is a physical quantity.Studies of atomic polarizabilities have been of great interest in many different and important applications such as the atomic clocks,the cold atoms,the atomic structure parameters,and so on.For example,the knowledge of static polarizabilities of clock transition states can be used to evaluate the blackbody radiation effects and Stark effects.And the knowledge of dynamic polarizabilities can be used to determine the Tune-out wavelengths and Magic wavelengths,which can further improve the accuracy of the atomic structure parameters and the atomic clocks.However,it is very challenging to accurately measure the atomic polarizabilities in experiment,especially which the relevant data of the excited states are very limited.Therefore,it is an urgent need to provide high-precision atomic polarizabilities theoretically.In this work,the static and dynamic polarizabilities of Rb atom are calculated by using the relativistic configuration interaction and core polarization(RCICP)theory in detail.The influences of degree of polarization to the Tune-out wavelengths and Magic wavelengths,and the influences of hyperfine effects to the Tune-out wavelengths are analyzed intensively.The first chapter briefly introduces the main research significance,progress and framework in this work.In the second chapter,the RCICP method is introduced,then the theoretical formulae of calculating the static polarizability,dynamic polarizability,Tune-out wavelength,and Magic wavelength are given,and finally the calculated method of energy levels,matrix elements,and polarizabilities are introduced after considering the hyperfine splittings.In the third to sixth chapters,the results of this work are discussed in detail.The main research contents are as follows:1.The energy levels and reduced electric dipole matrix elements of fine structure of Rb atom are calculated by using the RCICP program.The electric dipole,quadrupole,and octupole static polarizabilities of the ground state 5s and the low-lying excited states 5pJ、4dJ of Rb atom are determined,which are compared with other theoretical and experimental results.And the blackbody radiation shifts related to the accuracy of Rb atomic clock are further analyzed.2.In the case of the linearly and circularly polarized lights,the dynamic polarizabilities of the ground state and excited states of Rb atom are calculated in detail.The all Tune-out wavelengths and their positions of the ground state are determined,the Magic wavelengths and their positions of 5s1/2-5p1/2 and 5s1/2-5p3/2transitions are also determined.And the influences of degree of laser polarization to these wavelengths are analyzed.3.The energy levels and reduced matrix elements of the hyperfine states of 87,85Rb are recomputed by considering the hyperfine splittings.The static and dynamic polarizabilities of the hyperfine ground states of 87,85Rb are obtained.The Tune-out wavelengths of the hyperfine ground states of 87,85Rb are also determined,which are compared with the recent high-precision experimental results.Then the sources of the uncertainties of the Tune-out wavelengths are analyzed in detail.
