With the continuous development of urbanization,water resources as a key factor in urban development,the interaction between the water resources utilization efficiency and the urban development is gradually enhanced,and the different aspects of the urbanization development have different effects on the water use efficiency.Since 2000,with the implementation of the western development strategy,the process of urbanization in the western region has been accelerated,especially in recent years to promote "low consumption,low emissions,low pollution" and "high aggregation,high efficiency,high quality" of the new urbanization.For the northwest region,due to the long-standing constraints of water resources background conditions,how to use water resources in different regions,and the relationship between water use efficiency and urbanization has become the focus of research.Based on the measurement of water use efficiency,through the discussion of the spatial and temporal pattern of water resources utilization efficiency,by means of correlation analysis and fitting of spatial panel model,to study the relationship between water use efficiency and urbanization and its subsystems,the following conclusions:(1)In 2000 – 2014,the utilization efficiency of water resources in most counties of Hexi Corridor showed a slight fluctuation trend,and the water resources use efficiency in oasis of midstream was higher than that in upstream and downstream.By the end of 2014,the inputs and outputs of 25% towns in Hexi Corridor were better.The decomposition of Malmquist index indicated that the utilization efficiency of water resources in Hexi Corridor was low in the past 15 years,although it was growing,but the growth status was poor;technology has become the main factor restricting the water use efficiency of Hexi Corridor.At the same time,the utilization efficiency of water resources was the fastest growing in Jiayuguan,the most serious decline was Minle County,and the growth rate of TFP in most counties in Shiyang River Basin was better than that of other watersheds.(2)The internal differences of water use efficiency in Hexi Corridor have gradually reduced,development status of respective camps gradually improved.Space pattern was generally high in the middle and low on all sides,high in the east and low in the west,oasis of midstream had always been a high-value distribution area,and gradually formed a high density area.The number of high-value areas gradually dominated,but the diffusion areas were not much,some high-value areas did not show the effect of radiation and driving.(3)Level of urbanization and subsystem in Hexi corridor was fluctuating upward and development was not balanced.With regard to the relationship between urbanization level and water use efficiency,there are conclusions:From the relationship between urbanization and the efficiency of water use:(1)Water resources utilization efficiency showed a trend of high in the middle and low on all sides,and the urbanization level showed a trend of high in the east and low in the west.(2)In most counties,growth rate of water resources utilization efficiency was slower than the level of urbanization,the development of urbanization level was at the top of the list.(3)From the perspective of time series,water resources utilization efficiency had a significant correlation with the overall level of urbanization in most counties,from the point of view of spatial sequence,the urbanization factors had more and more influence on the spatial pattern of water use efficiency,but the correlation coefficient was less than the time series,the relationship between water use efficiency and urbanization level was influenced by individual regional factors more than time factors.From the relationship between urbanization subsystem and water use efficiency:(1)Population urbanization was significantly associated with water efficiency in urban core areas.Economic urbanization was significantly related to water efficiency in urban core areas and individual towns.Social urbanization,spatial urbanization and water efficiency were significantly related in small towns,respectively.There was no significant relationship between water use efficiency and ecological environment in most counties.(2)Economic urbanization were significantly related to water use efficiency in Hexi Corridor and the three inland river basin,and the effect of economic urbanization on the water efficiency of the Shiyang River Basin was characterized by U-shaped curve,and were positive correlation effects in the Heihe River Basin and the Shule River Basin.There was no significant relationship between population urbanization and water efficiency in the Shule River Basin,others were a significant positive correlation.The water efficiency in the Shiyang River and Shule River Basin was significantly correlated with the ecological environment and spatial urbanization,respectively,there was no significant relationship between urbanization and water efficiency in Hexi Corridor and the three inland river basin.Under the interaction of urbanization subsystems,water efficiency had been fluctuating only in the Shule River Basin,and the downward trend was reduced and began to show an upward trend in the rest of the region.
