Natural rock and soil are affected by material composition,genetic type and age factors in the long process of formation.The environmental characteristics and development of the same soil layer are distinctive,and their differences decline with the distance.The correlation between physical parameters became stronger as two points of soil become closer,or vice versa.Therefore,the application of mathematical methods to represent the correlation between rock and soil,as well as using it on the geotechnical engineering get more and more scholars' attention.Comparison of the engineering properties of alluvial and marine soft soils with different sedimentary facies.This paper compares different method of correlation distance calculation.The correlation distances and related directions of the Holocene strata in Nantong city are calculated by using in the recurrence space average method and variant function method.Thus bring analyses and discussion,from the view of sedimentary history and sedimentary environment.This research calculates the regression formula among physical parameters and distinguishes the correlation differences through correlation coefficient and partial correlation coefficient.The statistical correlation calculation results displays,the physical and mechanical parameters of soil,in studied area,are influenced by sedimentary history.The vertical correlation distance between Holocene and mid Holocene is about 0.25m.The late Holocene vertical correlation distance is about 0.12-0.18m,showing the increasing trend with the time of the history.In the similar sedimentary environment,the horizontal correlation distance of the early Holocene soil layer is about 260m,the middle Holocene is about 200m and the late Holocene is about 100m.The dominant sedimentary orientation of each soil layer is in line with the paleogeography sedimentary hydrodynamic direction.It calculates correlation parameter of special random field in typical region.In the meantime,the octree structure model was established.Through Kriging spatial interpolation method,it sets up 3D model encompasses physical parameters.The study of the correlation of geotechnical parameters provides the basis for the classification of engineering geological stratum,the value of geotechnical engineering parameters,the establishment of urban engineering geological model and the identification of paleogeographic sedimentary environment.
