The goal of the third phase of lunar exploring project is to achieve sampling task on lunar surface and two meters deep.The lunar rocks are likely to be encountered in moon drilling.Drillability is the main basis and prerequisite for selection of drilling method,bit type,drilling process parameters and measuring the penetration rate.The current study focus on lunar soil,drillability research of lunar rocks has not yet commenced.The complex structure and scarcity of lunar rocks,the randomness and unpredictability of physical and mechanical properties are learned through the research.Sandstone,marble,granite,limestone,"hole stone" and basalt are confirmed as mimics for moon rocks based on investigation and analysis of the envelope and similarity of Lunar rocks and Earth rocks.The physical and mechanical properties and P-wave velocity are selected to evaluate the drillability of lunar rocks based on characteristics of current drill evaluation method and special geological conditions of the moon.The main contents are as follows in this thesis:1?Systematic analysis of the type,distribution,composition,particle size and its relationship with the sampling depth of moon rocks based on the research on sampling results of Apollo and Luna.Documents and papers are consulted to conclude the physical and mechanical properties and P-wave velocity of lunar rocks brought from the moon.2?Establishment the mathematical models of the drillability of lunar rocks based on the properties of physical and mechanical based on comparative analysis of the influence of various factors.3?Carry out a series text of physics and mechanical properties and micro-drilling experiment of mimetic rocks.The coefficients of parameters in model are determined and the degree of influence of each property to drillability is studied through regression analysis.4?The interface of the drillability evaluation is made by MATLAB to assessment the drillability of lunar rocks,basis of the physical and mechanical properties and P-wave velocity.
