Potash industry is encouraged to develop in the China's "11th five-year plan" and"12th five-year plan",while potassium is also one of important mineral resources shortage in China.Over the years,the Chinese government has invested great manpower and material resources to look for potassium mineral.From the point of resources,our country is a serious lack of potassium,the current domestic potash or potash imports 70%imports.In order to control potassium shortage situation and break foreign monopoly on China's potash market,Our country must strengthen the domestic liquid potassium mineral exploration and research and increase the development and utilization of potassium in brineThe Jianghan Basin is a Cenozoic continental downfaulted basin which was formed in late Yanshan movement.The Jiangling Depression located in the southwest is the important component of the structure which developed in the Cretaceous-Tertiary continental lake sediment.Currently the potassium-rich brine was found in Xingouzui Formation and Shashi Group in the deep layers of Jiangling Depression.The potassium grade is very high,more than industrial grade,and is the potential for brine potassium resources.Potassium-rich brine mainly distributes in Nangang district,Lijiatai areas,Shashi district,and Fanjiatai areas.Its reservoir types are fracture reservoir type,sandstone reservoir type and volcanic rock reservoir type.Reservoir brine potassium enrichment varies in different areas.The rich brine potassium distribution range and various parameters are delineated by lithologic data and reservoir property analysis.Using the volume method to calculate the potential resources of 5.14×108 m3,the content of potassium is about 5.253 x 106t.The underground brine concentration of Jiangling Depression is high.The K content is abnormally high levels of 13.5 g/L and I,B,Li content of 14.1,346,60 mg/.The brine has been painted more than comprehensive utilization grade with hydrochemical type brine for Na-Cl type.There are some significant differences between the ionic composition of the brine and the Yellow Sea water evaporation enrichment stage data.The typical of brine are high salinity,rich potassium,boron and iodine and other rare components,poor magnesium and sulfuric acid root,and somewhat higher in calcium and bicarbonate root.Sensitive trace elements can reflect sedimentary environment in the process of brine evolution.Through the indoor experimental analysis,the authors think the lake environment in the Shashi Formation is perennial deep delamination salt lake and the study area is characterized by a drought and warm palaeoclimate through analysis of V/Ni,Cu/Zn,Ni/Co,Fe203/FeO ratio.Isotope analysis of 8D-8180 shows that the sample pointes fall on the right side of the line of atmospheric precipitation,indicating that the brine is continental atmospheric water origin.34S and the 13C isotope also prove that the sedimentary environment condition was a closed continental sedimentation reduction environment.The volcanic rock of Jiangling Depression is widely developed.Solid drill encounter multi-port well overflow or kick in the volcanic rock formation.It is closely related to volcanic activity deep source supply as high temperature,the rich content of rare element I,B,Li,several times higher than normal seawater concentration of brine to dozens of times.Formation of brine can be summarized in salt lake brine metamorphic sedimentary,the late tectonic movement and volcanic thermal activity and potassium and trace elements.
