The Research On Monopoly And Regulation Of E-commerce

In the information age,e-commerce platform as convenient,wide coverage and other characteristics has been widely accepted by the market.After two decades of development,e-commerce platform business is gradually maturing.Large-scale platform enterprises are also developing a certain market forces.From the e-commerce platform market structure,there has formed the four giants,such as Alibaba,JD,VIPSHOP and SUNING.Alibaba has the largest share in the market,and has gradually formed a monopoly.The operation mechanism of e-commerce platform is different from unilateral market.It has the characteristics of a bilateral market,and the study of its theory and regulation is more backward.Therefore,there still need to research the government how to understand the monopoly of e-commerce platform,and how to develop regulatory measures.Based on the monopoly perspective and the theory of bilateral market,this paper takes the literature research method,the game theory and the mathematical modeling as the research method.Firstly,it analyzes the mechanism of the monopoly of the e-commerce platform,and views that the dependence of platform user’s path can make the platform enterprise lock the user.Finally the e-commerce platform gains the market forces.The conversion cost and the compatibility are the important factor to form the locking.Secondly,from the perspective of platform pricing,the oligopoly model and the model of interoperability between platforms of e-commerce platform are analyzed.Besides,the welfare of the two is analyzed and compared,it is found that interconnection can improve social welfare.Finally,some suggestions are put forward for the regulation of e-commerce platform.
