The Impact Of R&D Direction On Enterprise Efficiency

This paper answers such a question: Is the R&D direction important in the efficiency of high-tech enterprises? The results show that:(1)The direction of R&D has an impact on the efficiency of enterprises,but this effect is heterogeneous.(2)The R&D innovation activities of enterprises can really improve the efficiency of enterprises,but the proportion of basic R&D and applied R&D needs to be rationally allocated in different enterprises.Specifically,a simple dual-enterprise model is constructed in this paper,as the basis analysis framework of the impact of R&D direction on enterprise efficiency is constructed.Then we use the DEA method to calculate the efficiency,and construct the regression equation to do regression analysis.Finally,it draws a series of conclusions which have practical and guiding significance for the current high-tech enterprises in china.In the part of theoretical research,this paper constructs a simple dual-enterprise model,the model shows that:(1)When the cost of imitation is low,backward technology company take the direct application of R&D can maximize the profits of enterprises.(2)When the cost of imitation is higher,all the enterprise should carry out the basic research first and then carry on the application research,which can maximize the profits of the enterprise.In the part of empirical research,this paper takes the key high-tech enterprises of national Torch Program as samples,and uses the enterprise data during the 2011-2016 years of sample enterprises.Then we use DEA method to construct the CCR model and the BCC model with three inputs and two outputs,and calculate the technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the sample enterprises.Then we constructed the regression equation and carry out regression analysis of all enterprises.After that,we carry out regression analysis of the pharmaceutical industry,electronic industry,computer and related equipment manufacturing industry independently.The key innovation of this paper is to pay attention to the influence of the relative quantity of enterprise R&D direction on enterprise efficiency.Scholars at home and abroad often focus on the number of patents,but ignore the proportion structure relationship between basic R&D and applied R&D.However,the resource endowments of an enterprise's R&D investment are limited.Therefore,research on the direction of enterprise R&D is of great significance.
