Research On The Coordinated Development Of Regional Economy In Jiangsu Province From The Perspective Of Value Chain Division Of Labor

Jiangsu province which is located in the eastern coastal areas has rich natural resources and advantage of population,and it has realized the rapid development of the overall economy through carrying on the international industry transfer and cutting into the global value chain.However,despite the overall economic strength of Jiangsu province in the national front row,Jiangsu province economic development gap is huge,especially the economic gap among the south,the midland and the north.This paper applied the theory of value chain to research the reason of economic gap creatively.To explore the nature how the value chain division of labor affect quality of the coordinated economic development of Jiangsu province,this paper did a in-depth study not only from the perspective of theory but also from the perspective of empirical research.In theory,the value chain specialization is referred to the system of the division of labor that different links of the same product are arranged in different area,and the value created by each links is different.According to the size of the space distribution range,the value chain can be divided into the global value chain and the national value chain.The practice indicated Jiangsu province was just engaged in the production of relatively low value-added part when it cut into the global value chain,and the way of production suppressed the economic development of the midland and the north.It was the important reason why Jiangsu province developed unevenly.However,When Jiangsu province cut into the domestic value chain,the developed south could be engaged in the high value-added part through “learning by doing” effect,such as the links of researching and marketing.This mode of production is beneficial for the south to transfer the low value-added production to the midland and the north which has cheap labor and resources.In demonstration,this paper made the change of economic gap into graph by using percapita GDP data of Jiangsu Province between the years of 1978 to the year of 2015 in order to more intuitively and clearly see the shape of calendar year economic gap.And then,quantify the extent of the value chain of Jiangsu province by building the mathematical model of the value chain.At last,making the contrast analysis of the graph of economic gap and value chain of Jiangsu province.Finally this paper found that the deeper degree of inserting into global value chain in Jiangsu province,the greater the economic gap of Jiangsu province.The deeper degree of inserting into domestic value chain in Jiangsu province,the smaller the economic gap of Jiangsu province.At last,acquired conclusion is that Jiangsu province should deepen the extent of the national value chain to narrow the gap between the developments of regional economy of Jiangsu province,which can realize the harmonious development of regional economy of Jiangsu province.At the same time,building the value chain dominated by the enterprise of the south is also a feasible way to realize the transformation and upgrading of enterprise in Jiangsu area.
