Specialization level is one of important indexes to measure the degree of industry specialization, while regional specialization is regarded as a core content to measure the degree of division in geographical space. The increase of regional specialization level means that the improvement of industry specialization level in geographical space. However, the study of taking regional specialization level as an influencing factor is not enough in the empirical study of regional economic growth. This paper is based on the related literature, and applies the two yards industry data of China's industrial enterprise database in 281 cities and regions in China to calculate the regional industry specialization coefficient and measure the level of industrial specialization. In addition, part of the economic characteristics from 2004 to 2013 are collected to form the data set and carry on empirical research.Subsequently, this paper will investigate the influences of specialization coefficient in industrial areas on regional economic growth from thiree sample perspectives:core cities and non-core cities and the whole region. The research results shows that:1.The economic efficiency of core cities is higher than that of non-core cities, because the marginal effect of input of various factors is higher.Besides, the specialization level and economic growth in industrial areas are roughly inverted "U" shaped relationship, which indicates that the industry specialization in large and medium-sized cities can promote economic growth in a certain range. With the increase of the specialization level, the marginal impact of economic growth will be reduced to a certain critical value, and the improvement of specialization level will not be conducive to economic growth.2.In the empirical study, the economic growth and specialization of non-core cities presented negative correlation, while this paper believes that the result does not entirely express that the industry specialization restrains the regional economy, followed by the investigating on possible internal and external factors from different angles to explore the characteristics of economic growth in non-core cities in a more detailed way.3.From the perspective of the whole region, specialization level is negatively correlated with regional economic growth in industrial areas, and the comparative study shows that political resources have more far-reaching influences on the development of regional economy. The efficiency of factor output and the path of professional development are different between core and non-core cities, and the driving role of the core cities is obvious.Human capital input, trade scale, post and telecommunications infrastructure and population density in core cities have higher marginal contribution to economic growth, while the influences of material capital investment and government function in non-core cities are more outstanding.Based on the above research results,in terms of regions, the hardware and software infrastructure, human capital and government function still have significant roles in promoting the regional economy, and various elements should implement differentiated input according to the characteristics of the region. To promote regional coordinated development strategy, not only emphasizing the free flow of elements between regions, but also giving play to the government function to increase the supporting of infrastructure construction and industry development in non-core cities. As far as regional development is concerned, the regions should focus on creating "diversified industry specialization",which could improve specialization level and reduce the negative effects of industry specialization at the same time, and continuing to promote regional economic growth through the upgrading of industrial internal technologies and knowledge accumulation. In the process of regional industrial development, each region should actively cultivate and develop characteristic industry to promote regional industry specialization level, and build urban agglomeration and economic circle centered on core cities through "industries develop cities" to form the regional development pattern of "core city + surrounding city".
