Since the global financial crisis broke out in 2008,more and more attention has been paid to the protection of financial consumer rights and interests.As one of the most important parts of financial consumer protection,financial consumer education has become one of the daily work of financial regulatory agencies and financial institutions.Financial consumer education is not only related to financial consumers themselves,but also to the financial stability of the whole country and region.How to do a good job of financial consumer education has become an important issue of financial regulators.Based on the domestic and foreign research,this paper focus on the situation of Hunan Province,and makes a survey of the basic situation of the financial consumer education in Hunan province by means of questionnaire survey,experience summary and literature study.First of all,it discusses the status of the subject of financial consumer education.Hunan province consumers association,the financial regulators,financial institutions as educators,have carried out a lot of financial consumer education work within the scope of their duties,but they are lack of effective coordination mechanism,nor to make long-term planning system of the financial consumer education.The educated are the vast number of the financial consumers,they generally agree with the importance of financial education,but the overall evaluation of their financial knowledge level is low.Secondly,it analyzes the content and mode of education of financial consumer education.The content of financial consumer education is mainly financial knowledge,and the way of education is mainly embodied in the way of imparting financial knowledge.This paper analyzes the impartment of financial knowledge,the need of financial knowledge,and the grasp of financial knowledge.There is a mismatch between the impartment of financial knowledge,the need of financial knowledge and the grasp of financial knowledge.This paper analyzes the educator how to teach financial literacy and the educated to acquire financial knowledge,the study found that the approach of teaching financial literacy education,is lack of flexibility,and does not meet the approach that financial consumer access to financial knowledge.the analysis of education effect.Thirdly,analyzed the effect of financial consumer education.In terms of the results of the investigation and analysis,the situation of the financial consumer decision-making ability and the ability to protect the rights and interests is not optimistic,the education effect of financial consumer education is not significant.According to the results of the survey,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions:strengthening the basic knowledge of financial education;establish scientific and reasonable coordination mechanism;flexibly use of a variety of educational methods;teach students in accordance of their aptitude;establish an effective evaluation and feedback system.
