Six Sigma is a processes continual improvement method which developed from Total Quality Management.It can eliminate process defects,improve product quality and service quality,reduce cycle time and lowering costs,achieve the customers' satisfaction and increase the enterprise's competitiveness by improving the process.With the development of the global economic integration,more and more enterprises have participated in the international market competition.Quality is a key factor which relates to success or failure in the competition.If an enterprise wants to succeed,firstly it should improve the quality.Manufacturing industry is foundation of the whole national economy.Our country's manufacturing industry has made remarkable achievement after years of development.But the product's quality still has a big margin for improvement.In order to win in the fierce competition,China's manufacturing enterprises should learn and apply the world advanced management theory,such as Six Sigma management,to improve the quality of products and reduce the cost of enterprises.First,this paper briefly introduces Six Sigma and Quality Management,and describes the definition method and tool of Six Sigma.Secondly,introduces the definition and development and relevant theory of Quality Management,and compares Six Sigma with ISO9000 and Total Quality Management.Thirdly,analyses the current status of quality management of company A and sums up major problems,and application of Six Sigma to solve these problems.Finally,for better implementation of Six Sigma,enforces the supporting measures.I believe this study can provide some experience and inspiration for our country's manufacturing enterprises in using Six Sigma improve product quality.
