In the era of the economic globalization, all enterprises are facing severe external environment with increasingly fierce competitions. At present, people in the enterprise become the most competitive asset of the enterprise. Therefore,if the enterprise wants to live and develop in existing environment, the leader of the enterprise should lead his employees to change themselves to adapt to the changes of the external environment and continuously coordinate the relationship between the leader and employees to improve the competitiveness of the enterprise. In the relationship between employees in the enterprise, how to make the interaction between the leader and the employees in the best condition so as to achieve the goal of enhancing the overall competitiveness of the organization is the hot issue of the research on the effectiveness of the current leadership behaviors.Based on the above considerations, this paper explores the impact of leader-member exchange on job satisfaction in the context of Chinese culture. It introduces job performance as an intermediary variable, the leader-member exchange as an independent variable and the job satisfaction as a dependent variable to explore the specific impact of mechanism of leader-member exchange on job satisfaction.Leader-member exchange refers to the fact that, due to time constraints and limited resource, the leader will only establish a special relationship with a small number of people in the employees. These individuals will become insiders who get more attention and help of the leader and may be given the privileges;while other employees become outsiders whose relationship with the leader is limited to the scope of formal work.In this study, the employees of Hebei,Tianjin,Beijing,Sichuan and Shanghai were surveyed by leader-member exchange scale, job performance scale and job satisfaction scale. The 411 employees were used as valid samples to explore various dimensions of leader-member exchange and the its impact on job satisfaction. It explores the way in which job performance is played between the two elements.Based on the theory of social exchange, this study establishes the research model and uses the statistical software to analyze the data and obtains the following conclusions:(1)The leader-member exchange, job performance and job satisfaction are significantly pairwise correlated.Various dimensions of the leader-member exchange are obviously positive correlated with the job performance;various dimensions of the leader-member exchange are dramatically positive correlated with the job satisfaction;various dimensions of the job performance are prominently positive correlated with the job satisfaction.(2)The leader-member exchange has a significant positive predictive effect on job satisfaction. Its dimensions of emotions, loyalty, contributions and professional respect have significant positive predictive effect on job satisfaction. The leader-member exchange has a significant positive predictive effect on job performance. Its dimensions of emotions, loyalty, contributions and professional respect have significant positive predictive effect on job performance. The job performance has a significant positive effect on the job satisfaction, and its dimensions of relationship performance and task performance have significant positive predictive effect on the job satisfaction.(3)The job performance plays a mediating effect in the impact of leader-member exchange on job satisfaction. The relationship between job performance and the performance dimension of job performance plays a mediating effect in the impact of the leader-member exchange on job satisfaction. The job performance plays a mediating effect in the impact of leader-member exchange of dimensions of emotions, loyalty, contributions, and professional respect on the job satisfaction.
